Absolutely stunning place to stay - the rooms are gorgeous as is the inn, pub and restaurant. Staff are warm and welcoming, and the area is divinely quiet. Highly recommended, one of my favourite stays in a long long time.

Quirky and Relaxing
Beautiful room with a great deep bath. Staff were very welcoming and helpful and check in was extremely quick and easy. Plenty of parking in a quiet area with lovely views from the room. The only negative was the general noise from the bar area which is directly below the room

Beautiful get away rustic Inn with blazing fire on a cold winter weekend. Lovely quirky room great food and very friendly staff. Right out in countryside - perfect!

A charming hotel in pretty gardens.
A beautiful property with sparkling clean rooms and very friendly hosts. There are lovely enclosed gardens which were perfect for our wee spaniel.The perfect stop off point en route to Occitaine. We would very happily stay here again.

Only stayed one night before getting the early eurotunnel. We arrived quite late but all of the staff were so accommodating and friendly and we managed to get some lovely food despite the time. The room was beautiful and rustic only downside is that because we were leaving early we felt we had to be so so quiet as the rooms felt so intimate.s

Great room for the night and excellent food!
Amazing pub and restaurant. Cozy and intimate. I would love to go there around Christmas time. The manager was very helpful and friendly. Food was great. Bed was comfy. The added extras were lovely too. A piece of fudge and some port! Great toiletries.

Amazing overnight stay. Wanted to stay longer. Great inn, the food is delightful, and the establishment was kind and welcoming. We had the room looking over vineyards and thought the room was comfortable and well appointed.

The pub itself was lovely, and in a really beautiful area with gorgeous views from our bedroom window. The decor in the room we stayed in was amazing - very unusual and quirky with some really nice features, especially the copper bath! The food we ordered at dinner time was delicious too. The reason I’ve only rated a 3 is because unfortunately the bed was extremely uncomfortable and only a double size. We realised as we were going to bed that the toilet had something wrong with the flush, so it sounded like it was continuously flushing throughout the nigh. This meant that neither my husband or myself slept very well at all. I did mention it to a member of staff as I thought it was important that they were made aware of the flush so that they could rectify it before someone else stayed there, but the lady I spoke to just said that they already knew about it! (I have also seen since that somebody else has left a similar review so it surprises me that both these issues haven’t been addressed.) There was some complimentary port and vodka and tomato juice which was a nice touch. (Although no milk in the room which was a shame as there was plenty of tea and coffee as well as a coffee maker.) One last thing to mention, there is a small door that can be used to go outside onto the balcony without having to go through the pub to go outside, but the door frame is extremely low so as I walked through it I whacked my head, just to be aware that you need to bend down!

Great place but not suitable for workers.
The food and accommodation was very nice. The thing that let the room down for me was that there was no TV. As a lone traveller and the location being remote, there was not much to do in the evening. The accommodation does not cater for workers, as breakfast only started at 10:00 and I had to make my way out of the property at 08:00, via a small opening and down some slippery wooden stairs, whilst carrying bags, as the formal exit door was locked at that time. Although the accommodation was very nice, I wouldn't stay there again on a business trip.

Another amazing stay at the Five Bells. Stayed in Fuggle, our new favourite room They had updated their outside area too which looks stunning making an additional treat. Even managed to have alfresco breakfast which was delightful. Staff were attentive and accommodating. Looking forward to next time.

Perfect getaway with no interruptions
This is our second time staying here and we love it. Very relaxed environment, brilliant service throughout our stay & for some people might seem a problem in this day and age but the phone sign isn’t brilliant so this is a perfect getaway from life’s interruptions and truly relax! Will definitely be back again soon!

Place was shut during lockdown but still on hotels.com taking bookings. After travelling to the area for work i arrived to find no one there even after being sent booking confirmation from hotels.com and direct from the property. Im sure it would have been excellent if it had been open....

Disgraceful!!!
I am in the process of trying to secure a refund the money I paid for this accommodation. When I booked Hotels.com sent me confirmation of the booking in the usual way but when I arrived at the hotel it was closed down and had been for several months. I called the hotel's direct number provided and there was an answer machine message confirming it was closed due to COVID19 and not sure when it would re-open.

The room was lovely and bed very comfy unfortunately we weren’t aware that the cooked breakfast was only available from 10am and as we had booked a tour in Canterbury we didn’t have time to wait so had to opt for continental in our room which was not what we wanted as we always look forward to breakfast as part of our trip away Note. there are tea/ coffee making facilities but as stated in the room guide single use(1 of each)

Striking room centred around a free-standing bath. Nice but a little bit of an obstacle course . We missed a television and some comfy seating -understood when we mentioned this the next morning, it had been removed as part of Covid restrictions . Atmospheric bar/restaurant-food very good .

Stayed for the first time, staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Great selection of gin ! Had a really good meal in the restaurant(highly recommended), I had to depart early for work and found a lovely breakfast of fruit and croissants outside my door first thing. Room superb, authentic and a joy to stay in. I will be back if I can find any free nights ! Highly recommended this little breath of fresh air ... just leave a room for me:)

Would defiantly stay again.
Five Bells Inn as a very pleasant atmosphere when you first walk in to the bar/restaurant area. I received a very warm welcome on arrival & was helped upstairs with my luggage. Thoroughly explained dining options for both evening dinner & breakfast. Room was very comfortable especially the mattress (not like a brick like many hotels).The cleaning staff who where in the dinning area in the morning went out of their way to be very helpful while waiting for restaurant staff to arrive with sorting out cups of tea/coffee etc.

Great little place with a lovely, quirky room. Staff freindly, food reasonably priced for good standard. The only criticism but substantial was that the Mattress on one side had seen better days. The springs had gone badly which was in turn uncomputable and no option to replace.

Quirky pub with rooms, OTT decorations which were great, love the chanderliers ! Be aware that there are no facilities to make a hot drink, but staff happy to bring it to your room. Very comfortable beds, no TV (good idea) but retro radio.
