Great location in heart of it all

We had a good experience at the UpStreet Luxury Apartments in Plaka. The location was Devine - centrally located to everything. Huge downside that I didn’t think through when I was planning is that there isn’t a front desk/concierge, so there wasn’t anyone available to help with tours, suggestions or to answer questions. Not a big deal if you know your way around. Accommodations were clean and as describe, however, the building/room had a bad smell - perhaps the folks who rented it before us had brought in food and left it in the room for too long or maybe the neighboring apartment was cooking with pungent spices, either way the smell hit you when you walked in and was obvious for our entire three day stay.

Property is very clean, nicely decorated, spacious and close to all activities. We walked everywhere for sightseeing, dinner and grocery needs. Communication with landlord was not easy but we sort it out some how. The only problem we had was the humidity smell in bathroom and rattling noice on fan coil system. It was not a huge deal but it has to be fixed by the landlord.

Avoid. Communication was terrible. Owner had multiple opportunities to ask us on the Hotels.com platform to complete the online form which he failed to do which meant we were left waiting outside the property with nobody to speak to. The local business helped us out and also tried to contact the owner telling us that this is not the first time it's happened and that other people have experienced poor communication. We had to find accommodation for two nights due to this whilst still being charged by the property owner.
