My experience staying in a regular-rate room: It's a room with a bed in it. It has a sink, toilet and shower. Tiny fridge. No microwave. TV did not work. Comfortable bed and sheets. Nice person at the check-in desk. I felt safe. Very close to everything, including Von's. You get what you pay for, and I wanted a safe, private budget room near everything. If inexpensive, funky lodging is your thing, this is your jam.

This really should be 4 stars . Great room in a quaint seaside “villiage” Avalon, Catalina island. An hour from the mainland, Los Angeles! Older hotel; very clean; large room with King size bed. Ours had balcony with partial ocean view. Service and management were awesome . Highly recommended

Casa Mariquita was conveniently located near restaurants and grocery shopping. Me and my wife had a wonderful stay and recommend stay at this hotel. The only downside was having to walk up stairs to the 4th floor to our hotel room.We had a beautiful view on the 4th floor and our room had a partial view of the ocean.
