"Traveling back from holidays with my daughter I realized I would need to stop in Kansas City unexpectedly and got on hotels.com to book a spot. I found an extended stay hotel in my budget and reserved the room - paying in full through hotels.com. I booked the room about four hours prior to arriving. Once I arrived the hotel smelled of weed, the front desk attendant had a sign up that she was busy helping another customer when in reality she was around the corner smoking. Once she came into the front, she advised me they did not have a room for me due to low staffing and only being rooms with two beds that were available.
