"This hotel is close to the Johannes Kirche in the centre of the old town of Schaffhausen. The fortress is close too as are all the shops and restaurants on Vordergasse. It takes about five minutes to get to the train station where you can easily get to the Rhine Falls (5 minutes on the train in the Zurich direction and make sure to catch a train that stops at Neuhausen Rheinfall - not just Neuhausen). Stein-am-Rhein is thirty minutes on the train in the other direction heading towards St Gallen. The old town of Schaffhausen has many decorative features including fountains, murals, oriel windows, and metal signs."

"The property was nice enough but if we had known the whole front and reception area was under construction we would have chosen another hotel. We had to go thru the kitchen to use the elevator, which was necessary with our luggage to the 3rd floor. Had to tell construction crew twice to close the door during breakfast because of the paint fumes. This disappointment will be gone as soon as construction is done. Lovely garden and very close walking distance to town, shops and Munot. Would have liked lotion and hair conditioner in bathroom but always carry this with us. Staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was very good. I would stay here again because I know the reception will be very nice when construction is done."
