The location was fantastic. Getting to & from was made easy by the front desk by providing our taxi service. Even with our 5:45 am start they greeted us with coffee & croissants to go. The rooms were nice and well-appointed with waters & juices too. Getting extra provisions like towels & coffee pods was quick and dependable. Overall I’d highly recommend this property for anyone staying in the charming town of Beaune.

Everything about it was lovely and highly recommended! The heater was on which made the room hot. But we were able to turn it off and could sleep with windows open. Thank goodness it was cold outside. One cannot shift to AC mode.

This was one of our best hotel stays of all time. Fabulous, attentive staff, great breakfast (with additions if you'd like, not necessary in our opinion). Beautiful, comfortable rooms and beds, and the most powerful shower. We would love to stay here again.

A beautiful stay at Maison 1896 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Maison 1896 is a beautiful and charming hotel, perfectly combining historic charm with responsive staff, high quality decor and exceptional comfort. We extend a special recognition to Sara in the reception team, who was so helpful during the planning process and also offered warm assistance throughout our stay. Sara made everything from reserving our stay, to planning activities, checking in and checking out completely effortless. The entire reception team is simply exceptional, but Sara stands out as especially professional and offers the perfect blend of warm hospitality and pure professionalism. The rooms are thoughtfully designed, spacious, and extremely comfortable. We also extend gratitude to the housekeeping staff—the room was kept spotlessly clean every day, and their service made a big difference in our stay. Overall, the quality of the hotel and the level of service across the board was the best we’ve experienced in all of France. This hotel will surely soon be formally recognized as best-in-class by the hospitality industry. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would love to stay again.

This is my new favourite hotel. The staff was incredibly helpful and engaging. Our room was beautiful and well appointed. The food at The Slanted door was delicious. Our experience there was 10 out of 10 and we can’t wait to be back.

Amazing stay. Loved the room overall. Bathroom was outstanding. Felt like staying in a thoughtfully designed house rather than a hotel. Staff (especially Alex who gave us our room Orientation) was helpful, friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the high quality breakfast items each morning as well. A top favorite hotel stay for us!

Our stay at Maison 1896 was defined by its perfect location in the heart of Beaune, everything felt effortlessly within reach, yet the hotel itself remained calm and intimate. The staff truly made the experience. I wasn’t feeling well upon arrival, and they immediately adapted, arranging a seamless, fast check-in so I could rest as soon as possible. Their care didn’t stop there; they kindly sourced the necessary medicine from a nearby pharmacy, which made all the difference. We stayed in the Beaune Suite, which was charming, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed ideal for a relaxing stay. A place where genuine care and attention elevate every detail.
