WiFi Problems

This hotel is quite nice in terms of amenities, service, location, and most everything else. The reason my overall assessment of the hotel is so poor is because the WiFi was effectively useless for me. My employer requires me to connect to a VPN to use most online services. The hotel WiFi was filtering VPN traffic, thus I was not able to use it for even basic things (e.g., checking email). Instead, I was forced to tether my laptop to my phone, through which I could connect to my employer's VPN. This of course left me with a very slow internet connection. Although the hotel is quite nice overall, the lack of functional WiFi was a real detriment for me. I would say that if internet access is not important, this hotel is great. Otherwise, if internet access is, I could not recommend it (and would not stay here myself).

It is one of best hotel in Beijing . Very friendly staff and very clean . Perfect location. Manager ,Johnny Wang did help us to book touring ticket with very patience. Will stay this hotel in next trip in Beijing for sure

Pangu: the place to be near the Convention Center

The Pangu Seven Star Hotel is by far the place to stay if you're in town for an event at the Convention Center. Way nicer than the Convention Center hotel and an easy 10-15 minute walk. A very nice free buffet breakfast in the morning and beautiful lounges for tea and dining on the 21st floor. I highly recommend Tammy, who was incredibly helpful during my stay and speaks excellent English.

a great place to stay in the olympic green area

the staff with whom we interacted over a 10-day stay were terrific; our room was large, the king bed comfortable, the bathroom/rain shower terrific; housekeeping did a great job, cheerfully accommodating our late morning sleep-ins -- keeping us well-supplied with fruit and water; the AC was turned off (early Nov.), but the front desk sent up a portable fan to make the room less stuffy; breakfast was an incredible spread: four chefs take custom orders and provide cappuccinos on demand; the seafood buffet dinner on 2 was so-so -- 3 might have been better; dinner at the Chinese restaurant on 6 was very good -- without reservations we only got a table on 1/3 attempts; we regret not trying the Italian or Japanese restaurants (there's a $700/person omakase menu); ordering room service in English was a slight challenge, but the food was quickly delivered and well prepared; the lobby was just OK (cold fries!); there are many restaurants in the Xin'ao mall, about 20 mins. away: Xiaodiao Pear Soup was definitely worth our 70 min. wait for a table (note: waiting list numbers are only announced in Mandarin); taxis were ~$16 to/from PEK and took ~40 mins. in light traffic, front desk staff scheduled our return trip; #82 bus stops right outside the hotel and took us to many of the top tourist areas in about 50-70 mins.; #8 subway was a 20-25 min. walk, depending on whether we went S or N, but we also got the #8 without walking by going 4 stops S on the bus; this hotel is highly recommended

Nice hotel next to Olympic Park

Overall, the hotel was comfortable and classy. My original room was poorly airconditioned, but was upgraded to a nicer , better air conditioned room right away. The restaurants were horribly overpriced and I would recommend eating at more local restaurants which will cost you 1/4 of the hotels prices.
