Liked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Nice location but dated rooms among others.
1-Rooms are small and dated
2-Section of the pool not working
3-Irregular hours for cleaning the rooms
4-Poor comfort mattress
5-A/C is not so effective
6-No coffee machine available in the buffet
7-The property didn't seem aware of the Hotels.com gold membership and didn't give perks
I booked a staycation at the Regent for a 2 night stay. Sadly upon arrival and check in, the government had mandated all hotel to close their pool, sauna, and steam rooms. Luckily the gym was still open. Due to the services being closed and me not being informed prior to check in, the manager upgraded me to an executive sweet! Everyone at the hotel was very nice, spoke good English, and were very helpful. The breakfast at the hotel was also delicious. Many of the staff even greeted me by name throughout my stay.
This is my second time to stay at Regent Hotel for five nights. Still keeping an amazing experience this time. Great location. Subway just next to the hotel. It's so convenience for us to visit the historical area . Concierge, front desk & housekeeping staff are polite, friendly and helpful. Ample room size with fruit & free mini bar for first round. Attentive staffs in Regent Club with good service. I definitely like to stay here next time.
Location : excellent especially for first time visitors to Beijing. We arrive by subway from airport - Capitol airport Express 25rmb and 3rmb subway lines and exit at station Dengshikou which is just beside the hotel . Total travel time 45mins. On our last day we return to airport via Airport Bus whose terminus is in front of hotel ( 25rmb each and no tugging of luggage when changing train lines. The Bus departs every hour ). Forbidden City , Wanfujin St are within walking distances less than 30mins slow walk. We took the subway for the rest of historical sites. The conceirge got for us a chauffered car at a reasonable price for whole day use for the trip up north to the Great wall. There are local eateries in front and behind the hotel as well as 24hr convenience stores.
Rooms : Clean and good temperature control ( winter ) The TV a little small for the room size. Full toiletries provided. The mini bar is free for first one time!!!!
Amenities: Enjoyed the well equipped gym and the pools. One pool is heated to 42C which is refreshing since its winter outside. The changing room toilet even has a wet clothes spinner and hot pools
Staff service : excellent and polite from front desk to housekeeping even though we can hardly speak Mandarin.
I stayed in Regent Beijing for 6 nights and I traveled to another city in between. It was helpful when they offered to keep some of our luggage before our next check-in.
Location was strategic, subway station was just next to the hotel. Walking distance to forbidden city and some shopping areas. Hotel front desk staff are friendly and helpful.
There are 2 things I didn't like about this hotel.
1. Cleanliness of the toilet. I stayed in 2 different room in my 6 nights stay. First room was perfect but not for the second room i stayed. The shower screen and wall was full of shampoo stain. I doubt the cleaner ever wash the shower screen. The shower room's floor was abit sticky as well. The basin tap reviver were full of stain.
2. I saw a hotel guest smoking at the lobby. He was smoking in front of front desk when he was checking out. I heard the front desk staff told him politely not to smoke indoor but the guest ignore her and continued talking. He took a few more puffed before he walked away to look for an ashtray INSIDE lobby area. I was disappointed that no hotel staff bring him outside or to a smoking room immediately. He continue smoking and he finished the cigarette while he pretend to look for an ashtray INSIDE hotel lobby.
Good hotel with very close to dengshikou subway st
Very helpfull and good knowlege of concierge staff lina wang, overall very happy with our stay.Need not mention , the michelin star restaurant of lee yuen cantoneese food
