"Here’s a polished version that keeps your original perspective and sounds natural for a hotel review: The DoubleTree is a great property for staying downtown. It is extremely close to the MAX public transportation system, which is very convenient for getting around the city. However, the proximity to the MAX can occasionally be a downside, as the trains can be a bit loud and you may feel some shaking in the room when they pass. The property itself is secure, well-maintained, and staffed by very friendly and helpful employees. The balcony I had from my room was a great feature and provides a nice place to relax, although the views are primarily of the nearby parking structure and the Portland downtown hotels/buildings The hotel bar is also a nice spot to unwind. There is not a restaurant on-site, which would have been a convenient addition. I did not use any of the other on-site amenities, so I can't comment on those. Overall, it is a convenient and comfortable option for staying downtown, especially if easy access to public transportation is important."

"It is frustrating to have to use valet and not being able to self park, because it is expensive. But parking in an unsecured lot blocks from the property isn't an ideal situation. That being said, all of the valet guys were friendly, professional, and efficient."

"Loved the local discount and the shower and towels. Free coffee in the morning was wonderful and the beds were so comfortable we slept well. The downside was no available parking when we arrived. Reception was not very interested in greeting us upon arrival, in the am and sporadically throughout the stay. When we went to sit in lobby area on Sunday am there were old drink cups out from the previous night (thus the lower score for clean environment). Staff was very helpful giving us recs for dining. The place had its ups and downs but we will likely stay again because of the location and bed comfort."

"I had a little staycation in Portland at the Heathman hotel and it was absolutely lovely. The room service was actually really good, which is hard to find in Portland. The bed was comfortable. The room was great. The only downside was the shower. I hope that they upgrade those soon because it was in need of an upgrade. I got a shower with a disability seat in it so maybe next time it will be a different experience, but I will definitely be staying here again. It was great."
