"A great escape in the Alps."

"This was one of our favorite hotels on our rail trip through Switzerland! We visited during the last weekend before the fall tourist slow down. (Businesses and restaurants close for a month before ski season.) The hotel was clean and we were upgraded to a suite. The view of all the snowcapped mountains from our balcony was gorgeous. Breakfast was bountiful! There were many choices for us. The hotel also allowed us to leave our luggage with them after check out so that we could go sightseeing before our evening train departure. Our two regrets were that we couldn't stay more than one night and we couldn't eat more for breakfast! ;-) We highly recommend Hotel Alpenhof and will stay there again if we return to Gridelwald."

"I adore returning to this beautiful hotel, and when I arrived yesterday, was so happy to be welcomed by Carolina, whose customer service is so outstanding. I have visited this hotel several times, and she is truly genuine in her care for her guests. She makes you feel so welcome, and at home. It is my husbands first visit, and he adores the hotel. The entire staff is exceptional-we are so grateful to have found this beautiful hotel in Spiez"

"The staff here was super helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is great- surrounded by mountains even if we didn’t technically have a mountain facing room. The building itself is beautiful. Walking around the first floor, you see lots of lovely common spaces. It feels very grand and fancy. I would definitely stay here again if I’m in Wengen again."
