"The host was so warm welcoming from time we stepped out of the car always smiling could not do do enough for us. Showed us everything around the cottage and answered all questions. The cottage was very clean and you felt you was at home as soon as you stepped through the front door. You had everything in the kitchen you needed. "The Crown Hotel is nestled in a quiet community near Carlisle. It is located near a train station but also has a parking area (spaces are a bit tight, designed for small cars but filled with larger cars). There is access to a private gym/fitness center on site. There is a lovely garden with seating. The morning breakfast is quite nice with many options. We stayed three nights while we explored Carlisle, Hadrian's Wall and the Lake District. Also, there is a nearby footpath that takes you along the Eden River to Constantine's Cell/Wetheral Caves which made for a lovely morning walk."
