Manor House Hotel

8/10 Good

"Easy car parking. Beautiful manor house with lots of history, artifacts and rustic features. The corridors are a little creaky but carpeted and steps leading to the upstairs rooms are shallow and with handrail. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room had all the necessary things - kettle, tea, coffee and hot chocolate, shampoo, shower gel and conditioner. WiFi was easy to connect to, there was an information point with leaflets for local attractions and the restaurant easy to book on arrival."

Grey Street Hotel

"Room was very nice and the bed very comfortable. We had the Charles Grey suite and the layout was a bit interesting, though added to the unique charm of the hotel. Bathroom was immediately inside the entrance and the bedroom was down a flight of narrow stairs. There were other stairs to the suite as well, which made it slightly challenging to navigate with large bags. Know that going in. The shower was perhaps the only complaint. It was a nice, glasses in shower, but the design was a bit poor. If the shower door was not properly closed and the hand wand used, you could end up with water everywhere on the bathroom floor. Awkward really. The lobby was nice, the staff welcoming, and they even had a little plant "library" where you could borrow a plant and take it to the room for your stay. We were only there for one night, but it was a very cozy stay after what amounted to 24 hours of travel for us to get there. We slept like babies. Location was great, only a short walk from the train station and there was lots of shopping and dining options close by."

Langley Castle Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Beautiful property and unique experience staying in the castle. The staff were very friendly and welcoming - they looked after us very well. Beware some of the castle rooms require you to go up a spiral staircase which is a bit of a climb with a suitcase. The staff very helpful and will help with luggage tho. Evening meal was adequate only as there was limited options which interested us. However breakfast was amazing cooked to order and great variety to suit all diets. Do go on their history tour of the castle gives an opportunity to go up onto the roof and see the chapel"
