Our second stay at the hotel, this time in the standard pitch view room- previous stay was in the penthouse room. View in the standard room was great, room modernised and clean. Downside was how bright the room was at night. Lights cultivating the pitch illuminated the room, the curtains did not cover the glow which made for a awful nights sleep. Our penthouse stay was much better, comfier bed/bedding, darker room with light creeping through the curtains. Breakfast on this occasion was also disappointing. We came down at 830am, no croissants or bagels, two different small fruit pastries that were undercooked and soggy. On the hot counter food had obviously sat on display for a while, hardly any mushrooms, hash browns were soggy, sausages were ok but the again eggs scrambled and fried had sat there for a while. The black pudding didn't look cooked, just dry and hard. The breakfast we had on our first visit was cooked to order, and was great. Sadly this visit disappointed food and comfort wise.

The main reception to the hotel was welcoming and clean. Room was very cold, there were a couple of electric plug in heaters available but didn't want to leave on all night as always weary of these heaters so the room was cold. Basic room, could be doing with a bit of a revamp to make more modern and comfortable although the bed was comfortable. Went down for breakfast at approx 9.30am and the food had obviously been left sitting for a while without being refreshed, there was a hard layer formed over the scrambled eggs and the food had started to turn hard. Plenty of parking.

Pro Pitch view room was lovely Great view as we walked in. Bed was comfy Shower was hot and clean Really nice being able to control the room temp also. Cons… No hangers or hooks for any clothes/coats Only one english teabag given A small table could have done with another chair so as a couple we could sit together. Basic tv and unable to put subtitles on (I’m deaf) No cup for the bathroom when brushing our teeth - having to use a mug. Wish we could have opened the balcony

This really was an excellent stay. We were a bit apprehensive due to some of the reviews about rooms being tired, so we specifically asked and paid for a refurbished room (40 in total). We also had a pitch view room, which is a unique experience. Checked in at reception in 10 seconds flat, the same for checking out. Room spotless, newly refurbished, great shower, comfy bed, can’t ask for anymore than that. Just off Middlebrook retail park with loads to do

Very limited gluten free options on the menu and no seperate fryer means no chips for me :-( Room was tired but single beds were comfy but narrow. Bathroom extractor dead, shower screen leaked by toilet, sink very gurgly. Otherwise good location and easy to find.

The stay was amazing, I would definitely highly recommend this hotel to anyone, the hotel was very clean and spotless, very bright and airy, comfortable, and the staff were friendly, approachable and helpful when I struggled to open the door, the breakfast was great and it was complimentary too, there was an amazing view of the pitch, I was very pleased with this hotel stay and I will definitely stay again in the future.

Great stay

Booked a pitch view room, it was match day and perfect! The hotel was busy afterwards but it was to be expected. Room was great, had the facilities we needed and a comfy bed. We included breakfast with our stay which was very good, a good decent selection and staff on hand if needed. I would definitely consider booking here again.
