"We recently stayed at the Hotel Macao in Jardin, and had a Wonderful experience. The proprietor, Dora, is a gracious, thoughtful and helpful hostess, and she made us feel more like we were guests in her home than just in a hotel. She kindly arranged for a room with superb mountain views and balcony for us. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the rooms have large windows with amazing views of Jardin on one side, and fields and mountains with horses on the other. Downtown is just a short walk, as are the waterfalls and trails in the other direction. The interior courtyard hosts breakfast, made by Dora, and each chair is uniquely painted by a local artist. The breakfast is hearty and a great way to start the day. Dora knows the area very well, and is happy to help with suggestions, calling a tuk tuk or cab for you, or to suggest something you might like to see. I have only good things to say about this hotel and the lady who operates it, hope to stay there again, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel with real local charm and character, was comfortable, spotlessly clean, and with such views that if you are just too tired to go out another day, you don't feel you are wasting a vacation day just sitting on the balcony and watching the clouds flow over the mountains. "
"Overall I enjoyed staying here. Two small complaints: the pillows and mattress have plastic covers, which I understand ensures cleanliness, but is quite uncomfortable in a humid environment and was a surprise to see at a fairly nice hotel. Second, the hot tub was cold. It would have been nice to enjoy it after a long day hiking. "
"This hotel was sooo affordable, clean and very friendly staff. It is walking distance to main plaza and restaurants. What a quaint little town. I wish I could have spent more time there. Felt very secure. For the price of this stay you can’t go wrong,"
"The place was not functioning. It was closed. Nobody opened the door. We waited 35 minutes outside. No answer. We were left to find a new spot on a Saturday at 9 pm with 2 children.
The 2 hours later they replied "sorry, your room is ready now", and when we told them we had to find an Airbnb and we needed a refund, they quit answering. Irresponsible and unethical. Stay away"
"El personal del hotel es súper amable, nos pareció muy organizado, limpio y bonito. Le puse 4 estrellas porque no hay agua caliente y en el cuarto el ventilador hace mucho ruido. Pero recomendado para un plan familiar de descanso"
