The Courier staff was so welcoming and helpful. The room was perfect and had everything we needed. We stayed in the bunk bed Suite which had the bunk bed in a safe! It was a lot of fun. The location was great for getting around town.
Honestly the best hotel I’ve been to in my life. I loved the full sized fridge and all the items you could possibly need to cook. Having lamps with the USB-C charging port was also a plus. The Brita filter in the fridge was unexpected but highly appreciated. And the A/C that actually gets to the temp you set it to? Amazing. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I’ll be recommending The Courier to any friends or family that are thinking of coming to Salem.
Cleanliness: 5/5
Decor: 5/5
- Modern, tall ceilings, double-pull shades that really help block out light
Comfort: 5/5
- King bed is a little soft, but so comfy after staying on firm beds, and we like firm beds!
- Really appreciated the ability to get the room cool enough for sleeping. AC in May was such a blessing.
Amenities:
- Didn't use the kitchen much, but very appreciated.
- Loved the interactive mirror that lets you adjust the light.
Value: 5/5
- Wish all our stays were this well-priced and nice. Stayed on 5/18/26 and paid ~$210 total for a king non-studio room.
Parking: 4/5
- Lot is a block away around the corner, so just a little inconvenient. Drop off your luggage before you park.
Not sure anyone cares, but the hotel is only 2 floors.
Fantastic central location & very bring, clean & spacious rooms.
Only thing as it’s new the laundry is not yet available but Derby St Wash/Dry & Fold service was fantastic as well.
Highly recommend
A newly restored older building overlooking the streets just high enough to dull the sounds of the streets. Great location for walking to everything you’d want to see in Salem. An app for keys, plenty of towels, and friendly staff. The junior king room was perfect for our weekend getaway with a massage parlor situated just beneath the hotel, it was perfect to help us relax. Great stay and very clean!
Hotel was literally brand new and I loved how good everything smelled - new and clean. Staff was wonderful.
Only issue was towels and sheets were so new that all the fuzzies came off on us. They need to be washed a bit more but smelled clean so we’ll take it! Parking is near a dispensary so that was not too great either…..but the hotel, worth ever penny!
Our overall stay was fantastic! The location is perfect — you’re right in the middle of everything Salem has to offer, and everything is within a short walking distance. I’d definitely recommend paying for the parking; it made things much easier instead of having to search for a spot.
Our only complaint was that the windows are very thin, so you can hear almost everything happening outside throughout the night. We stayed in one of the front rooms overlooking the parking lot and main road, which probably made the noise more noticeable. With that said, we would definitely stay there again.
Nice central location. But the windows are very thin and not insulated. That means you will hear every motorcycle rev, car, truck, and conversation. Especially after they get out of the bar that is right on the corner. I suppose if your room was facing the opposite side of the main street you should be good but if not, good luck getting sleep. Also, the blinds were a pain to open and close, be prepared to get your hands get roughed up.
We had an incredible stay at The Courier Hotel—one we’ll never forget. When we arrived for check-in, we were greeted with the exciting news that it was the hotel’s grand opening day, and we were among the very first guests. Even more special, we were the first people to stay in our room.
Everything was absolutely immaculate. The room was spotless and beautifully designed, and you could still catch that fresh, new-hotel scent in the air. It truly felt like a one-of-a-kind experience.
What stood out just as much as the pristine condition of the hotel was the staff. Everyone we encountered was warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating, making us feel valued from the moment we walked in.
The location is another huge plus—perfectly situated within just a few minutes’ walk to all the main attractions in Salem, making it easy to explore without needing a car.
All in all, an amazing experience from start to finish. We feel lucky to have been part of the hotel’s opening day and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!
