"Room could be better cleaned"

"Beautiful hotel , quite and located on a hill. Hight quality bedding, exceeded my expectation. Highly recommended. "

"The bad experience began when we pulled in and I tought the place was abandoned. The exterior looked sad and worn down. We wen to the office at 5:30 pm and no one was there, apparently check in between 3:30 and 5 if you'd like to actually talk to someone. We did receive an email explaining the check in procedure but as we were traveling in the State Park were there is little to no service we did not receive anything until we drove away from the motel and into the town where we finally got service and were able to get into our room. Our room did show evidence of recent renevation. However, it was not as advertised. The photos of the rooms shown on the website are taken from an angle that makes them look spacious and workable. We barely had enough space to walk past the foot of the beds without knocking the TV off the wall. The bathroom was not large enough stand at the sink without both shoulders hitting the walls. There was only a single chair in the room and no place to put bags or suitcases to unpack. For some reason there was a full dresser in the room as if someone was staying for a month. In the shower dispensers there was no soap or shampoo, only conditioner. We were unable to use the TV because we did not have the correct code to use them. We paid almost $300 for two nights...we left at 5 in the morning after one restless night on a bed that squeaked everytime one of us moved."

"The room was clean. The room was totally worn out. Needs a complete refreshing. Paint was peeling. Around the bathtub there was black in the caulking. Tub was very slippery. Had to put a towel down to keep from falling. The refrigerator was noisy. Everything was very old looking. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. Muffins were tiny. There were only three pillows on the bed when we got there. Two guests and three pillows? We called down for an extra pillow and the clerk said that housekeeping was gone for the day so we couldn't get one until tomorrow. A maintenance man came around tomorrow and we told him about it and he said that we could have had an extra pillow that night. He gave us one. not a very good experience."

"Great place to stay! Super clean and well maintained. The decor is historic boutique at its best. Lots of charming touches. There is an outdoor terrace and a communal sitting area with coffee, chess boards, and lots of historic books. My kids loved the loft bed. It felt like a second bedroom to them with their own space. When searching for place to stay to visit Shenandoah and Luray Caverns, most were bed and breakfast type places, cabins that looked old and not clean, or roadside motels. This is truly a gem amongst them. Seamless check-in and check-out. Food places within walking distance. Highly recommend. The manager, Jenn, was super easy to communicate with over text. She truly cares about this place and it shows."

"It’s annually gorgeous "

"The first room the AC was broken. After an hour, we were given a new room. That room at dark had a bug infestation outside from the lighting. Because the bottom of the door to the room had a large gap at the bottom the bugs (over 75) were on the ceiling, floors and in our personal items. The owner refused to do anything about it and stated that this is normal for the Culpepper area. I've stayed in Culpepper before and NO this is not usual."

"We enjoyed our stay at the Hampton Inn and Suites Culpeper. We were seeing a concert at UVA but all of the hotels were sold out. The rooms were clean, the bathrooms were all updated, the gym was amazing with nice equipment, and the staff was very nice. The breakfast was also great. If we are ever staying in Culpeper again, we would definitely stay here!"
