Top Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness Hotel Reviews

Aspen Lodge
4/10 Poor
"Nothing about this hotel felt clean, not even the sheets. The carpet so much so that I wouldn't go barefoot on it. The hot tub was out of service for chemical rebalancing, and when it opened it had way too much chlorine and we felt like we couldn't wash it all off. In fact my daughter got red rashes on her skin, and the guest laundry was out of service so I couldn't wash her bathing suit. The walls were very thin, the water tasted weird and made the coffee taste awful, smelling like cat litter. I discovered after our first night that it was right downwind of a waste water treatment plant, which explained the noxious stench we experienced. We all had headaches and nausea after waking up the first morning. The breakfast was pitiful and there was only one outlet in the whole room for chargers or devices, and not even cable on the tv. Won't be staying again."

East Bay Suites
10/10 Excellent
"This was an excellent accommodation—clean, comfortable (though could use new pillows in bedrooms) and perfect location for walking to everything! Kitchen was well appointed. We really appreciated the ice maker in the fridge! Very nice and helpful staff. We will definitely stay here again when traveling north. "

Caribou Highlands Lodge
8/10 Good
"Clean room, dated. The hot tub and pool were beyond packed to the point of me needing to get out due task it became uncomfortable. With a location and prices like these I would expect 2 outdoor hot tubs or 2 indoor (for a resort of this size) like one sees in Colorado or Utah.
Bar closes at 9pm on Friday and Saturday nights, would have been nice to see it open until 10. Over all, nice property, needs a bit of updating but it was a great stay.

The Cliff Dweller on Lake Superior
8/10 Good
"Onsite parking. Great views of Lake Superior literally right out the deck door. Would stay here again. Close to Lutsen Mountain resort which is a plus."

Feather Nest Inn
10/10 Excellent
"Everything a person needs is available. We stayed at the Yellow Room which offered 3 separate beds... 1 queen in a room, and two twin beds in another separate room. Walk up the stairs from the outside. Electronic key pad for entrance is handy. Very good communication from the owner. "

Poplar River Condos

The Mountain Inn at Lutsen
10/10 Excellent
"Thank you to the staff who checked us in. She was very accommodating as we had a dog with us. He's our family and she treated him as such. Room was very clean, smells clean and bed was comfortable. Will definitely keep staying here when visiting Lutsen."

The Shoreline Inn
4/10 Poor
"The property is old, the room needs an update and some maintenance throughout. It is in a good location right by the lake and was quiet. "
