Steigenberger, Brussels hotels

"Although the staff were very friendly and helpful the hotel is in need of a refresh . It’s starting to look very shabby in places. We paid for a better room and while bigger in size it was very basic and old fashioned and disappointing for the money paid. No fridge , water or tea and coffee facilities in the room. Breakfast was very good with a big selection."

"Chutneys restaurant was disappointing for the type of hotel. A slightly glorified pub with slow, surly service and a very mediocre meal. Sorry. Eat somewhere else. Rooftop bar with funky music if you like that sort of thing."

"Room was not ready on time due to large convention occuring at hotel the same day, so the reception offered to hold luggage and granted lounge access while we waited. However, no one was in the lounge (employee) when we arrived and there wasn't any direction on potential restroom available or other perks available in the lounge. While it was great that reception came up to lounge to hand out keycards once room was ready (only about 30 min wait) it was slightly disheartening to find out that our bags weren't in our room awaiting us and that we would need to go back down to reception to obtain them again. Would have been a nice feature to have to just go straight to room and bags be there or delivered shortly thereafter. Also, the room, while a 'junior suite' appeared to be laid out like a larger suite that was just blocked off with doors to other areas and the layout seemed poorly thought out (for example, table and chairs to eat, but no kitchenette or microwave/fridge to store food). Was extremely convenient to walk across small plaza and be at the airport for AM flight, though."

"It’s one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve stayed at anywhere and I liked the ambiance of the hotel along with spaciousness of the suite we stayed at, it was very nicely designed also but unfortunately the suite had a sewage smell in it! The moment we entered the suite the smell was there and nothing could be done about it since we only had room for one night & hotel was completely booked! "

"Brussels central station is only 6 min walk , grand place was only 3 to 5 min walk . Lot of restaurants around the hotel . Gallery was only 2 min away . I would recommend to anyone who wanted to stay very local to hotel and lots of brunch / dine in places to look into it . "
