"Location was very nice. Right on the river with a nice outdoor patio area. Parking was very convenient, with the attached garage. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to use the pool or other amenities since we were flying out early the next day. Our room was large and comfortable. Some of the furniture was worn and in need of attention. Staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful. They have a nice restaurant / bar area but the service we experienced there was poor at best. Server wasn't knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered and received our entrees within about 10 minutes, which is never a good sign. The food was not good at all. We ordered a simple dessert and, after waiting for 40 minutes, we had to give up and cancel it and ask for the check. Our server could not be found anywhere."
"My husband & I stayed here for one night while attending a concert in St. John's Castle. It is a very convenient hotel as in everything within the city centre is walkable. It has parking facilities nearby but you will have to pay a discounted price. The hotel itself is okay. The reception area is nice with quite nice artwork. Our room was okay but we found the corridors a bit shabby especially near the lifts. The bar and restaurant is nice with a varied menu to suit most tastes. Last orders for drinks was at 12am which we thought was a tad early seeing as we were staying in the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. We did not avail of breakfast. The price of our stay for one night was in keeping in what you would pay considering most hotels are expensive to stay in nowadays. I would recommend this hotel for a one or two night stay but you would probably require more comfort and facilities for a longer stay :)"
"The owner went out of his way to assist us. My wife injured here knew and was not able to walk. He arranged for a taxi to an event that evening and return us to the the B&B late that evening. He also arranged for a taxi to take early the following morning to the train station. BEcuase we were leaving early,we would miss breakfatds - he prepared a take away breakfast and had it waiting for us when we left. His efforts saved out trip to Burraty castle and the late night dinner there. neast, very clean and well decorated property. Highly recommend this B&B. Price was extremely reasonable for the level of service we received."
"For a 5-Star hotel the experience was disapointing. Our room was supposed to have a Shower/Bathtub combination, but at check in, we were put in a room without a bath.
When we went down to front desk and informed the staff that we had booked a room with both, they moved us to a different room with a tub and shower. That was good but added unnecessary time to the check in.
There was only 1 bath mat in the room, despite the shower and bath being on oposite sides of the bathroom.
There was old chewing gum under one of the bedside tables that fell down on my slippers in the morning, and the bathtub was chipped and had limescale on the tap.
The hotel was OK, but not the 5star experience I expected."
"Right in the heart of Ennis. Old hotel with modern amenities. Great place to stay with cafe restaurant and bar on ground level. Luggage storage was helpful too."
"So convenient for returning my rental car at Shannon Airport and then just walk across the street to catch my flight the next morning. The restaurant was convenient too.
Nothing fancy, but clean, comfortable and close to air transport.
The staff was fantastic, so helpful! My traveling companion had a flight canceled at the last minute, with no notice or assistance from Aer Lingus to make her connection in Paris for a flight to Bogota later that afternoon, so a hotel manager, Ashley (sp.?) sprang into action to press the airline to assist and make alternative arrangements: a taxi to Limerick after midnight to catch a bus to Dublin airport, then a flight from Dublin that arrived in Paris in time to make the Bogota flight. A lot of connections overnight and through the next morning, but the help was invaluable!"
