"The staff were great even though they were very busy and appear to be short staffed. One comment is that you need to be a genius to open the water bottles in the room !!! Also felt the small breads etc at breakfast were very dry . Otherwise a great stop and so loved the decor."

Sadly our overnight stay was let down with the room not being up to standard. The lock to the room wasn’t easy to open. Areas were grubby and in need of decorating, especially the paintwork in the bathroom. Whilst we would return to eat in the restaurant we would not stay overnight again. "

"The building is run down, the room we were put in had a dip in it either by broken floorboards under the Lino. The jacuzzi was not on. The breakfast was bleak. However the reception lady was helpful."

"We stayed one night last weekend, we had to be moved because the toilet flush didn't work but fortunately that wasn't a problem. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms are far enough away from the bar so as to be quiet. Our only small criticism of room 3 is that it's in the eaves and the shower screen is fixed so it is almost impossible to turn on the bath tap without actually getting in the bath! A silly design fault. The location on the river is lovely and it was good to have a drink outside in the sunshine in April. Dinner was amazing, the restaurant was packed on a Sunday night but service was quick, friendly and efficient. My Asian burger with king prawns and my wife's baby ribs were amazing and portions were enormous; we had no room for what looked like lovely desserts. £60 for this quality of food with a couple of drinks is excellent value. Breakfast was good too although there was not a great deal of choice. We were the only people staying but would certainly go to this pub again."

"The room was clean, and comfortable and a good shower in the En-Suite. Lack of shelves to put anything. The way to the rooms was via where beer barrels were kept and the floor was quite sticky and a little smelly. The room itself and location was fine for the one night stay we had and a reasonable price."

"This is a small pub with few rooms. The rooms are well appointed and modern, looks like it's been recently renovated. The staff were absolutely fantastic, so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good value and the service was very relaxed and unrushed."
