Where to stay in Burlington

Find the best Burlington areas for the activities you enjoy most.

Downtown Burlington

City centre Burlington blends lakefront charm with Vermont's creative spirit. Stroll the brick-paved Church Street Marketplace, where local musicians perform among outdoor cafes and artisan shops. The scenic waterfront promenade offers stunning views of Lake Champlain with mountain backdrops. The historic district hums with cultural energy at the Flynn Centre and Burlington City Arts. Farm-to-table restaurants showcase Vermont's finest cheeses and maple-infused dishes. Battery Park provides green space just steps from downtown's cobblestone streets and boutiques.

South End

South End in Burlington fuses industrial roots with artistic flair. Former warehouses now house galleries, studios, and creative businesses where artists craft with passion. The iconic World's Tallest Filing Cabinet stands as a quirky landmark in this cultural district. Breweries like Switchback and Zero Gravity anchor the neighborhood's vibrant craft scene. Wander through Pine Street Art Works or join monthly art walks to experience local creativity. Lake Champlain's shoreline lies just steps away, offering scenic views after exploring this bohemian enclave.

New North End

Burlington's New North End offers a peaceful family-friendly retreat with easy access to outdoor recreation. Quiet residential streets lead to Leddy Park, North Beach, and the scenic Burlington Bike Path along Lake Champlain. The Ethan Allen Homestead adds historic charm to this green area. The New North End gives budget-conscious travellers more affordable options than city centre Burlington. Local eateries serve casual comfort food in a relaxed atmosphere. With excellent cycling paths and swimming at North Beach, outdoor enthusiasts will feel right at home.

Old North End

A melting pot of cultures, Burlington's Old North End offers travellers an authentic slice of local life away from touristy spots. Vietnamese pho shops, Bosnian bakeries, and Somali restaurants serve up affordable, authentic meals. Colourful murals celebrate the area's diverse heritage along tree-lined streets. Community gardens burst with vegetables and flowers throughout this budget-friendly area. Historic Victorian homes create a lived-in charm that feels genuinely local. The nearby Lake Champlain waterfront provides scenic paths for walking and relaxation just minutes away.

Centennial

Burlington's Centennial area offers a peaceful residential retreat with tree-lined streets and quiet charm. The 65-acre Centennial Woods Natural Area invites visitors to explore walking trails beneath towering maples and oaks. This authentic Vermont community balances suburban comfort with natural beauty just minutes from city centre. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the seasonal wildflowers and bird-watching opportunities in the preserved forest. The neighborhood's leafy residential streets connect to Burlington's trail network. While dining options are limited within Centennial itself, the vibrant attractions of city centre Burlington remain just a short drive away.

Outbound Stowe

10/10 Excellent
"We stayed in one of the private cabins and absolutely loved it. It made us feel as though we had our own little quiet oasis, and I loved opening the shades in the morning and having the river just steps away. The property was immaculate, the drinks at the bar were delicious and the staff was incredibly friendly. The location of the hotel was perfect as well, close to downtown Stowe, the rec trail and all the fun breweries and restaurants. We canโ€™t wait to go back!"

"Room was great for the kids and I. Great space plenty big enough for the 3 of us. Amazing view of the lake!! Room very clean and well spaced and organized. Very nice to have the free bikes to use, though they were only a 1 speed bike. That was a heck of a 25 mile workout for us. Glad I added the breakfast during the booking purchase, it was much cheaper to do it then than at the hotel, considerably cheaper. And breakfast was amazing!! Eggs, sausage, bacon, breads, salmon, has browns, parfait, fruit, waffles, pancakes, amazing!! Conveniently located by the water and short walk to farmers market and church street stores. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again in the future."

"Loved Green Mountain Suites - our suite was lovely and so nice and quiet (some noise from street, but nothing from the hallways or other rooms). The pool looked nice though we didn't use it because it was full of kids most of the time. Breakfast was decent, not great, but not bad. We forgot about the evening gathering but 1 night they had wings and another night they had egg rolls. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it."
