"The menu was fresh but was also quite minimum. We were happy with it.
We would happily recommend living with Salvo for visiting Syracuse. The location is well located in the city in a quiet neighbourhood, importantly it feels safe. "

"Staying at Lidias place was wonderful. After all the touristy experiences of Naxos Taormina and ortiggia, it was a nice rest. Very close to the best part of the beach, we stayed two nights.
Did laundry there. Felt very welcome. "

"Hybla Major B&B was perfect for us. The room was clean, modern and safe as was the bathroom. The mattress was comforable, cleran and warm. The included breakfast was delicious and the staff helpful, warm and friendly. We found good food within a few minute walk of the B&B. Great place to stay."

"All of the staff were wonderful - kind, helpful and welcoming from the moment we arrived. A special mention must go to the glamorous young woman on reception with the most incredible eyeliner. She was so friendly and approachable, and her English was fantastic (certainly far better than my very basic, poorly spoken Italian 😅). Sadly, I didn't catch her name, but I hope she recognises herself.
When we arrived, she kindly checked with another member of staff to see if our rooms were ready, luckily we were able to check in early. She then showed us our location on a local area map and gave us excellent recommendations on where to eat, drink, and visit, along with helpful tips on how to get around.
On our last evening she was more than happy to arrange a taxi to the airport for us the following morning, which was greatly appreciated.
The rooms were very clean and spacious, with fully working air conditioning. One of the rooms also had a small balcony, which was a lovely added touch. ( The road can be a little loud if you have the window open but we wore earplugs at night so no problem for us). The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options, including pastries, fruit and yoghurt, cereal, bacon and eggs, olives, cheeses, sun-dried tomatoes, and more - plenty of choice for me as a vegetarian.
We would highly recommend the Grande Albergo Alfeo and would happily stay here again. Thanks again from Leanne, Freya & Louise."
"We rented two rooms. The staff were wonderful and very helpful! The location was excellent with great views of the sea and convenient walking distance to cafes and restaurants.
We would have really liked to have a coffee maker in the room. We were not interested in the full breakfast, but would have liked to have coffee in our rooms without getting fully dressed, leaving the building and visiting the hotel's other building across the street just to have a cup of coffee. Also, the showers are really awkward to get in and out of because of the accordion glass doors. In one of our rooms, the drain must have been clogged, because the water filled up in the bottom of the shower and almost overflowed before the user was finished using the shower."
"This is a fabulous perfect hotel in a great location. The only fault I could find was that we ran out of tissues on day 2 of a 3 night stay and they were not replaced. It should have been caught but I also didn’t make a specific request. They were SO helpful with the car and directions—not an easy thing in that location"
"Although it was advertised as parking available, there was no parking available nearby. The nearest public parking was 1.8 km away. The room was on the basement, with the windows directly looking at the next building, so practically, the was no view and limited light. Not recommended."
"The hotel is beautiful and the first night I was there I was in a really cool room with a loft. I left for a week and then came back and stayed another night. This time the room was underneath the restaurant and was super loud until well after 11 PM. But overall, it’s a lovely property and very well located."
