Nice one-night stay with family of four along Denali highway. Stunning location and views, homey feel, lots of games to play with the kids. We really enjoyed the hike that starts just behind the property.

Thanks for the review. It was great getting to meet you and your family! We look forward to possibly seeing you again in the future.
While the view was pretty, there seemed to be a lot of property maintenance and a huge amount of dust. As the manager had two dogs, one of which was not friendly and growled at my daughter and begged from the table.

Thanks for your review! We are sorry for the maintenance that was happening while you were here. It was a couple day project repairing parts of the generator/power shed. Alaska has been very very hot this summer causing the property and the gravel Denali Highway to be very dry and dusty. We have been trying to keep up with the dust but we aren't winning. We have had windows and doors open trying to keep a breeze passing through the lodge. Bandit and Ruby the lodge Jack Russels are normally put in the office behind the gate when new guest arrive. Sorry if this didn't happen. We will remind all staff of this policy. Thanks again for the review and we enjoyed getting to know you and your family.

Hunting Lodge with view in NOWHERE
Warning: This is more of a guys trip hunting lodge place and if you use Google maps/phone you’ll be lost by 1.5 hours as it’s closer to Paxon than Cantwell. Glad we eventually found it the drive across Denali Hwy was amazing. But the mosquitos will eat you alive and my daughter welted up from spider bites.

Thanks for the review Nicole! We enjoyed getting to know you, your husband and the kids while you were staying with us. Alpine Creek Lodge is actually not closer to Paxson. It is in the middle of the Denali Highway. We are 68 miles from Paxson and 67 miles from Cantwell. We have many different guest that stay with us from all over the world. Tourist that are just stopping by along the highway, ones that are fishing, ATVing, Gold Panning and Hunting. The night you happen to be at the lodge there was 30% guest that were hunting and the other 70% were tourist. I am sorry if you felt that it was only a hunting lodge but we do cater to all groups of people. Thanks again for the review and we hope you enjoyed your Alaskan Vacation!
