This 1BR apartment was a good size for a short two-week holiday. The layout is rationale. The property is well located on Main Road in Cape Town’s Greenpoint neighborhood. Many restaurants of differing ethnic cuisines are within a few blocks—two (possibly three given neighborhood boundaries) ended up being included on a food tour. I had already eaten at one and had loved it. It is very easy to get around via walking. I strongly suggest not walking around too late at night if there is no crowd of restaurant-goers. The unit needs a few things: (i) instructions on who to call with questions (i.e., where do I empty the trash, how do I use the washer but prevent that extremely loud and obnoxious noise it makes [repeatedly] when the wash is ending, etc.; (ii) clarity and early notification about when the cleaning person or service will arrive—a cleaning person entered the unit unannounced while I was in the shower; (iii) heating—it was freeeeezing in the bathroom and in the living room until I decided to use the HVAC unit above the bed to heat the entire apartment all day [who wants to step out of a shower with chills or to wear a jacket and sweater while inside]; (iv) pest control—I suspect that the HVAC is rarely used and changing out the filters may not have been a priority, but flying bugs (some alive) were being sucked into the bedroom; I swept the floor with a little brush many times to remove the bug carcasses; (v) cleaning service review between clients—hair & feces.
