Frequently asked questions

Can I rent a car from Cristiano Ronaldo Airport (FNC)?
You can, and there's lots of choice. After you touch down, you'll find the rental car centre on Level 0 of the main terminal. Here you can arrange your ride with fantastic companies like Europcar, Sixt and Goldcar. If you're after more options, see what's available with Avis/Budget and Guerin (Alamo; Enterprise; National).
What happens if I need to cancel my Machico car reservation?
If you need to switch your plans around, most prepaid bookings are eligible for a total refund. You'll just need to advise us a minimum of six hours in advance of the scheduled collection time. Have a thorough look over your rental agreement for any exceptions. Your confirmation will have more details, or head over to our Customer Service Portal for more info.

If you're looking to save on gas while navigating Machico, you can't top a mini. These pint-sized rides prove bigger isn't always better, especially while trying to find a parking space! Zip around the busy city streets with ease — you won't have to worry about your parallel parking skills. Need a car with more legroom? One of our mid-size, full-size or premium vehicles will give you all the space you need.
How do I find the best car rental deals in Machico with Expedia?

How old do you have to be to rent a car in Machico?
You'll need to be at least 18 to get behind the wheel of a rental vehicle in Machico. Keep in mind that young drivers may be restricted to renting from a few car categories, such as compact and economy. Higher age limits usually apply for luxury and specialty vehicles. Most suppliers will also charge a young renter fee. Read through the rules carefully before booking and factor any surcharge into your budget.
What do you need to rent a car in Machico?
Any rental company you choose will ask for these two things — a valid driver's licence and credit card. If you decide to opt out of the supplier's insurance plan, proof of your own coverage may also be needed. Read through your policy so you know what to bring when it's time to pick up your ride.
What side of the road do you drive on in Machico?
Like the U.S, you drive on the right in Portugal. But that doesn't mean all road rules are the same. Be sure to brush up on the local traffic regulations before you get behind the wheel in Machico.

Where can I find a Machico car rental if I am younger than 25?

Just keep in mind that some companies charge additional fees to drivers between 21 and 24. The terms and conditions of each rental car you're looking at should have all the details you need.
