"Great place and close to everything but if you are staying in the mixed dorms do not leave your valuables out. The door is never locked and people are in and out of the room all day both travelers and cleaning staff. My expensive earbuds that were on my bed were stolen out of the room when I went for a hike. Make sure you lock your valuables up, most people are trustworthy but there’s always a chance."

"My wife and I stayed at Dreams Madeira for 5 nights and had an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. We stayed in a Junior Suite, which was incredibly spacious, modern and very comfortable. The room had plenty of space to relax and unwind, and it really made our stay feel even more luxurious and enjoyable. One of the highlights for us was the incredible infinity pool overlooking the sea. The views were absolutely stunning and created such a peaceful atmosphere. Sitting by the pool and looking out over the ocean felt like something from a postcard and quickly became one of our favourite places in the resort. We also enjoyed the spa, which was a perfect place to switch off and relax. The whole experience felt calming and added another level of luxury to our trip. Everything was clean, well maintained and designed to help you completely unwind. The cocktails were fantastic as well — plenty of choice and made perfectly every time. Whether relaxing by the pool or enjoying the evening atmosphere, having great drinks with beautiful surroundings made the experience even better. The staff throughout the resort were incredibly friendly, welcoming and always happy to help. The food was excellent, with a good variety of options, and the whole hotel had such a relaxing atmosphere. This trip gave us amazing memories and quality time together. We would highly recommend Dreams Madeira to couples and families looking for a beautiful and relaxing getaway."

"We had such a wonderful stay at this hotel! Everything about it exceeded our expectations. The property itself is modern, stylish, and very clean, which made it feel comfortable and welcoming from the moment we arrived. One of the highlights of our stay was the beautiful ocean view from our balcony. It was so relaxing to sit outside and take in the scenery—definitely a memorable part of our trip. The location is another big plus. The hotel is conveniently situated close to the water, making it easy to enjoy walks along the shoreline, and it’s also near a variety of shops, and a mall, which was perfect for browsing and picking up anything we needed. We were also very happy with the buffet breakfast. There was a great variety of choices, and everything was fresh and delicious—such a great way to start each day. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommended!"

"The food at this hotel makes up for all the shortcomings! Obsessed with buffet food and Italian restaurant was great too. The only downsides of this hotel are the only two small elevators for the whole hotel and lack of entertainment. Other than that spa is good, massage is amazing. The covered pool is everything. Overall recommend this hotel "

Barcelo Funchal Oldtown

"Clean and comfortable room and friendly staff. However the pool was closed on the day of our arrival as a pigeon had drowned in it. Was told it would b shut for two days but it opened the following day but we were not told until 6pm. The hot buffet breakfast items in particular scrambled eggs, mushrooms, bacon and beans were lukewarm warm at best irrespective of the time breakfast was taken. Our room 107 was over a side street above a cafe. Lovely room, very clean and comfortable with a great shower bathroom etc. However the adjacent cafe was very noisy, not their customers but the staff shutting up around midnight and then opening at 0500, dragging tables and chairs about made it impossible to sleep with the windows open. Such a shame as it’s a lovely hotel in a prime location, I can get over the adjacent cafe as it’s the price of a city centre location and the hotel can’t be blamed for the pidgins inability to swim. So it’s just the cold (hot) breakfast that I’m really unhappy about, it put me off trying the hotel’s restaurant. No bad thing as it’s surrounded by so many places to eat at. A good stay that with a bit more attention would have been excellent."

"We had a great experience at the Savoy, its beautiful and staff was very friendly and helpful. Most importantly, its location is perfect, easy to explore surrounding attractions. Breakfast was excellent, with great variety. Staff were super good. Will definitely recommend it highly."

"I can’t rave enough about this hotel!! Parking included, fantastic and knowledgeable staff, unbelievable brunch/breakfast and the room was just outstanding. Reception was so patient with all my questions. Female staff really spent time with me and gave me the best advice. I really wish I remembered her name but she is exceptionally good at her role. I do wish there was a bottle opener in the room instead of having to get it from the front desk but that’s a small suggestion. "
