Hotels with Swimming Pools in Carlsbad

"The front desk lady gave me room 330 I got there at 1:15 am and went to my room after a long 5hr drive there was a naked person with a dirty room! I was so traumatized! I tried to reach out to the general manager and got no response!! I was moved down stairs and other guests were so loud it was horrible I will never rent a hotel ever again I’ll stick to air bb!!! This was terrible "

" While the property, furnishings, and night receptionist were very pleasant, I was not able to sleep soundly through the night. Firstly, like many hotels, Comfort Inn Suites in Carlsbad, NM, uses two panels of stationary curtains with a shear middle curtain that does not block light. This leaves no means of light control. I believe this is meant to encourage early rising and departure. While some guests may find this helpful, some guests (late night arrivals/check-ins, tourists who pack in a lot of activity during their day, or simply sensitive sleepers, etc.) are looking to get as much sleep as possible before having to get up and go. In addition to early morning light distraction, there is a permanent red blinking street light visible from the window near the bed which is also distractive due to not being able to shut the curtains. Finally, I can appreciate that hotel work requires early morning workers. I suggest they be reminded that some guests are still sleeping at 6:00/7:00 a.m. and therefore to keep the noise level to a minimal during those hours. Given I was unfortunately already awake at 5:30 a.m., the early shift workers loud voices and noises added to the sleep distractions. At that point, I gave up trying to sleep and left the hotel. Again, please consider replacing the stationary curtains with ones that close and ask early shift workers to keep noise to a minimal in the hallways located near the guest rooms. Thank you."

"Beds were okay, but not a great breakfast. Not many options, plus the in room coffee pot was so dirty. "

"The breakfast was okay but the staff were awful. I was never greeted or asked how my stay was going. The pool was like a swamp, green and smelly. The rooms were fine though. Clean and comfortable. It wasn't the worst but definitely wouldn't go back again "

"Absolutely loved staying here! The breakfast is legit, the fitness center was really good, and the staff was awesome. My only negatives, and they are minor….the fan inside of the AC unit was all kinds of loud and squeaky, and one hand towel had some sort of like blood stain on it. Otherwise, I’d absolutely stay again"
