Cheap hotel, poor facility.
Far away tourist area. Very poor facility. No hot water when taking shower. Unpleasant stay experience. No recommend.

Basic Hostel - But Worth it "IF" you are okay with
This is a basic place in a basic area that is affordable if that is what you are looking for. If you, or your mate are accustomed to upper end living then don't bother. If you want to stay in a basic place that is secure, then this is perfect. The location is easy to get to by any bus that says "BOSQUE" at 2.300 COP (Vs Taxi at 15.000 COP). To get to the beach where everyone local goes to, and quite a few tourists then the bus says B/GRANDE and is the same. Taxis going to the beach pay a toll, so it is 20.000 COP. The staff is perfect, friendly and helpful. The room is clean, and private room at $14. GA guest overnight is only 10.000 COP more. The water is NOT hot, but in summer months it is not cold either, but makes me feel like I am back in the Infantry during het Vietnam era! There are a few basic restaurants just around the corner that you can eat at for 7.000 to 10.000 COP and are a filling meal. I feel safe and secure here and spent ten days with no problems. The area is the industrial zone and is very safe in the days. You can NOT walk around very late at night, according to every local I have spoken to. I do see other non-locals (Gringos) in the area during the days. There are some clubs close by via taxi, but don't walk it. A 20 minute taxi ride is only $6, so no reason to risk anything for pocket change. Since you are away from town, about 15 to 20 minutes, brush up on your Spanish or you may have some problems. This is a working-class neighborhood (poor).

Disappointed
We have never seen such a small room and the smallest bathroom ever. This was not the type of place expected at all. There was no shower place but just a shower head next to wash basin with 1' area. Therefore we could not shower and decided to shower when we find another place for next day. Pictures of room is definitely not as on the site. Only the space for the bed. Not a good area for tourists. The stair case is locked with grilled gate and reception has to open when necessary to go out. The girl at reception is very helpful and tries her best. There is no restaurant around and they do not want you to walk in the area either. They have arranged with a place to deliver take out.

Si no quieres gastar mucho en Cartagena esta es una muy buena opción. Es céntrico para moverse en toda la ciudad. El personal es muy amable, en especial la dueña que les puede ayudar con cualquier información. Muy recomendado.
