Basic but more than adequate for our needs. Tired decor and simple furniture. You get what you pay for and compared to nearby hotels very reasonably priced. Large apartment with plenty of storage. Hotel is around 40 mins up a hill from the centre of Carcassone and public transport to get there isn’t good. There isn’t much around there so if you don’t have a car be prepared to get a lot of steps in. The room itself could do with a renovation.

The room was spacious and clean. We did not know about the height restriction for parking, but we found a space nearby. We loved the location - just a few minutes walk to the Cite. Did two locks on a Canal du Midi boat ride - unless you wanted to experience going through two lock, there was not much else to like about the 1.5 hours. The water was unclean and smelly. One very brief and distant view of the Medieval City.
Not much in Cavanac, so did not spend time in village.
Discovered after I had booked that this is the same hotel that my sister had stayed in many times before and had spoken so highly of it. She likes the secure parking for their classic car and 3 bottles of wine for a couple!
