Central Pattaya is the area the spans just north and south of Pattaya Beach and Central Pattaya Road in eastern Thailand. It is the most popular area in Pattaya, attracting millions of visitors each year, both Thai and from countries all over the world. You will even see local families enjoying the sandy beach and blue sea here.

There is no shortage of things to see and do in and around Central Pattaya and many visitors spend at least one week here.

If you want to get off of the beach and do some sightseeing visit: Ban Sukhawadee, Chaloemphrakiat Park, the unique Wat Yanasangwararam Woramahawihan or Ripley's Believe It Or Not. There are also a few theme parks in and around Central Pattaya, like Mini Siam, Siriphon Orchid Farm and Underwater World.

Visitors that want to enjoy some activities should try these: golf, mini-golf, yoga, bowling, paintball or scuba diving. It is also possible to take a Thai cooking class, learn how to sail or learn the art of Muay Thai.

Eating in Central Pattaya is extremely satisfying, as there is a large selection of cuisine at various prices. Some of the cheapest food can be found in food courts and at street carts, while there are also some upmarket options both along the beach and off of it. Drinking options are just as plentiful, with everything from stylish nightclubs to go-go bars being offered. Soi 7 and 8 are known for their open-air beer bars, while Soi Yodsak (Soi 6) is known for its go-go bars. There are also beachfront bars and beach clubs dotted around the area.

The best place for bargain shopping in Central Pattaya is the Made in Thailand Night Plaza, which, despite its name, is actually open throughout the entire day. The Market Pattaya is another good option for picking up souvenirs and local handicrafts. For a more upscale shopping experience, head to the massive Central Festival or the Royal Garden Plaza.
