Hotel Riu Plaza Chicago

"The male receptionist was extremely helpful, friendly, and welcoming. Unfortunately, the female receptionist was not as helpful or friendly. Her coworker noticed that I wasn't receiving the assistance I needed and stepped in to help, which I really appreciated. I've stayed at several RIU hotels before and have always been able to check in early when a room was available. This was the first time I've experienced a significant delay with check-in. Overall, I had a great stay. The hotel is in an excellent location, with everything within walking distance, making it very convenient to explore the area. Breakfast is included, which is a nice benefit, but the quality could be improved. The selection was very basic and limited compared to what I've experienced at other RIU hotels."

"What a memorable experience. During our 3-day stay, all of the staff we had contact with were professional, curteous and helpful. We often enjoyed talking with the friendly young man at the front desk who genuinely seemed to enjoy working there, making this an even more special visit. Our room was on the 2nd floor and everything was new and clean, including the carpet, bathroom tile, shower and sink! Breakfasts included waffles, crispy (yes!) bacon, link sausage, eggs, hash brown potatoes and fresh coffee. They also had bagels, toast, yogurt and fruits available. Probably the only item I can be critical about is that the hotel is currently underfoing remodeling construction. So, a little understanding by guests is probably appreciated by the staff. They seemed to work hard at staying out of the way and being quiet while we were there, and we didn't hear any noise in the evenings either."

"We like that the airport was close to the hotel, the check-in staff is not really that helpful in the breakfast is not complementary. The lobby in the rooms are very nice, but again the hotel is a little bit complicated to navigate out of the parking lot. Many Chicago hotels charge for parking daily and it’s roughly $45-$50 a day so keep that in mind you can take that out of your deposit."

"Room was really clean when we got there. The staff was really friendly and the breakfast was delicious. The beach was easy to get to. The restaurant has very delicious food and the Starbucks was awesome, Prices on the Starbucks was little bit more but it was worth it have Starbucks there in the hotel."

"Great stay! We were steps away from the beach, and restaurants. Parking was easy. Also the front desk was very helpful and friendly. I traveled with family and my 5 year old and she loved the indoor pool. For the price and location I would absolutely stay here again."
