"The hotel was pleasant overall. The gym and laundry room were a good size, and while the pool was small, we appreciated having access to the pool at the neighboring DoubleTree. Breakfast was okay, but not as authentic or enjoyable as at other hotels we've stayed at in Costa Rica.
My biggest concern was the security staff. On multiple occasions, my husband and I were approached and questioned while simply walking around the property or heading to the DoubleTree for dinner. While I understand security has a job to do, the repeated interactions felt excessive and made us feel singled out and uncomfortable.
The most disappointing part was that this happened while we were celebrating my husband's birthday, which took away from what should have been a special evening. We reported our concerns to the front desk and were told that thr hotel Ambassador would follow up, but we never received a call.
Unfortunately, the constant scrutiny made us feel unwelcome and overshadowed an otherwise decent stay. Because of this experience, we would not return."
