Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're prepared. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Aubin-Saint-Vaast holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, pack in your passport, travel documents, credit cards and daily medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy novel and a laptop filled with your favourite shows are always good options. If you plan to catch more than just forty winks, a neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll hop off the plane looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and poisons, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to feel as comfortable as possible. Go for shoes that are easy to slip on and off, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to bring a sweater in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
