Depending on where you're coming from, your trip to Spencer could be completely painless or it could drag on forever. We've rounded up some useful hints that will help you start your next great adventure on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack in your passport, travel documents, credit cards and medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A juicy novel and a tablet crammed with your favourite movies are some terrific options. If you hope to take a quick nap, a neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, find room for a few toiletry items so you'll hop off the plane looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and gasoline, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Go for shoes that are easy to pull on and off, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and remember to take a jacket in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to wander around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
