I sent a message when i booked that I have a Service Dog and prefer ground floor. Instead I had to climb 2 flights of stairs, room was in the attic with a west-facing window that didn't open had been heated all day, so hot & stuffy, no fan. Worst room I've ever paid for.
Generally run down and grubby. We were given 2 g/f disability rooms!
Breakfast they had no eggs even though egg boiler and bowl was laid out?
Worst Camponile I have stayed at!

Response from Yannick.H Directeur on 11 Jul,2022
Cher client, merci d'avoir pris le temps de nous écrire et de nous faire part de vos commentaires. Nous sommes ravis que vous ayez passé un agréable séjour parmi nous. Espérant vous revoir très vite dans notre établissement.
Bien cordialement
Yannick.H Directeur.
Disappointed to find the restaurant was closed, no indication on their website that this was so.
Room very clean but basic, no kettle in the room had to go and ask for one.
Hotel very isolated no shop’s or restaurant within walking distance.
Good for ferry.
old hotel no elevator had to carry heavy luggage in metal outside stairs under rain. No A|C. only 1 chair for 2 people. strong sewer odor in bathroom. Friendly gentlemen at the desk.
The hotel was extremely good value. It was close to the port and provided all that we needed. Staff were lovely. Food was on hand and nourished our tired bodies after the long journey. It's not a 5 star hotel but neither is the price.
Très bon séjour, personnel très accueillant. J'ai oublié mon chargeur d'ordinateur dans la chambre, il m'a très gentiment été renvoyé par l'équipe. C'est très appréciable.
Merci encore.

It was perfect for a stop over before catching the early ferry from Cherbourg - only 10 minutes away from the port.
Not somewhere I would stay again. The hotel is so very basic and the rooms were both damp smelling and run down. I wouldn’t stay with this hotel chain ever again, pay more and stay somewhere better.Breakfast was very basic, not like the photos!
Overnight stay ,restaurant really nice, good varie
The hotel is very convenient for a night stop from the ferry port. It has a nice restaurant and a car park. Couldn't make the bathroom light work so manager went to sort it while we had our evening meal.Really good service and really nice staff.the hotel does not have much around it but for one night off the ferry its very convenient. The hotel is easy to find from the town centre and you are on your way quickly in the morning as it is just off the main road.
its not the best furnished hotel but its very good for what you pay especially for one or two nights. We enjoyed very much the evening meal as you can have as many starters or desserts you want, so what we would say is its very good value for money. The staff is very helpful too so would go there again.
Hotel Campanile, Cherbourg is a simple, basic motel style hotel. We found it to be very clean and warm with a comfortable bed. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was generous with ham, cheese, fresh fruit, yogurt and pastries available.
The hotel is a fair distance outside Cherbourg but we were able to get taxis readily enough and there is a bus service close by

Useful place to stay when travelling
Room was 'tired' and needed a 'make over' but in general a comfortable bed and clean linen.
The restaurant made up for what the room lacked.
The hotel is a little tired and the rooms quite small. That having been said, the room was clean and tidy but faced onto the busy N13 major road in/out of Cherbourg. Restaurant for both dinner and breakfast was excellent with English spoken and the menu available in English. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would stay again but would try for a quieter room.
We could not find a main meal for a vegetarian in Cherbourg apart from pizzas and omelettes but found a very tasty one at this hotel. The buffet starter, dessert and breakfast were all excellent and all the staff very pleasant and helpful. Rooms a little tired and one temperamental loo flush.

One night stopover
An overnight stop coming off the ferry. Staff friendly and informative. Some english spoken. Dinner and breakfast were good. Room was adequate with clean bathroom. Both ample but basic. This was a stormy wet night and heating not great. Have stayed several times and is ok for an overnight stop.
Reception nice welcome room was adequate unusual only power point was the bathroom above the toilet hard wired kettle and tv adequate comfy bed slept well although woken by storm banging on window shutter overall ok
This was the best bed I have slept in in France. Good Quality and lovely linen and pillowcases. It was a very convenient spot and although on the road, quiet at night.
stay was suitable for our need and rooms were small but clean comfy would stay again cant comment on food as we ate out but pleased staff were very helpful
Very tired hotel and terribly shabby. No light in the bathroom, so difficult if you wanted to go to the loo at night.
Would diffinately not recommend it. Better hotels in the area.
Campanile are a good hotel group which over good value for money, the hotels can vary in quality and location. This hotel was one of the better ones we have stayed in, very good for overnight stay before a ferry crossing.
Close to Cherbourg and excellent view from our roo
We found this budget hotel to be clean comfortable and friendly. Breakfast may be a little more expensive than other hotels but it was worth the extra as it was a buffet breakfast therefore more variety

Great if you have a car
Located just south of Cherbourg, this hotel has free parking. So if you've got a car, solid. If you don't, it's a little far from town (and up a hill).
Right down the street is a mall with some cheap food and a grocery store.
Lovely, friendly, and helpful staff. This was actually my second time here, and I'd stay again.
This was a great hotel, with a great view, just outside Cherbourg. There's free parking, a rarity in France. Down the street there's a shopping complex with cheap food, a grocery store, and a gas station.
The hotel was clean, the Internet decent, and the shower was fantastic. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.
I would absolutely stay here again.
Stayed here for one night and boy were we glad it was just the one night. To far out of cherbourg but I guess that was our fault for not checking more thoroughly. The room was clean but the toilet did not flush so we resorted to chucking a waste paper bin of water down it to flush not the ideal start to our hols. We know it's budget but come on run down shabby and the whole hotel stunk of sewerage never again! Reception lady very helpful with a taxi .
Lovely, welcoming and helpful staff, and great location - but unfortunately our groundfloor room was extremely damp and smelt of mould... and indeed had mould on the walls and ceilings.
The room was small but well appointed. The location was very good. The restaurant was excellent. Of the seven hotels we stayed at during our visit to Normandy, this was definitely the best value!
