Highly recommend
Perfect for our overnight stay. Spotless, everything that was needed was there. Very easy check in and check out. Good communication. Highly recommend.

Quirky and clean
Last minute booking at 8pm at night after shopping in the area and planning a day at the zoo the following day. No bother, given a code for the property. Beautiful ,clean and well lit forecourted area. I struggled with the key box and a neighbour helped...but that was a me problem. Clean and a unique room, we loved it. Mattress springs dug in my shoulder and I woke up with a dead arm at 5am. Wouldn't hesitate to book again if i was in the area.

Convenient for events in/ around Chester/ Cheshire. No dining options around, the cafe (separately owned) provides a good breakfast but is not open all throughout the week.

The rooms were great, spacious and comfy. The only issue is that the cafe/restaurant didn’t open till 9am so we couldn’t get breakfast but other than a great stay.

Excellent facilities and modern amenities. We especially love the walk along the farm trail where we watched the sheeps grazing and the beautiful sunset! It was lovely!

Easy to find and not far from main road. Quiet, clean with everything required for stay over plus free parking. Room ideal with en suite shower. Excellent stop over place for us. Will definitely use again.

Clean, with hairdryer, good shower, kettle with tea, coffee, milk - everything we required for our stay. Also a need stand to hang our coats as well a a television and wifi connection. Free car parking too.

The room was lovely and modern looking with a barn feel to it. The lady in the office was super helpful too with giving advice on trains etc. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Good location for short stay.
The owner is very friendly and welcoming.Our room was very basic as in only 1 chair, no wardrobe or drawers, would be good for 1/2 nights but not for longer stay like ours.Housekeeping could do with improvement as on 3 occasions we had no tea bags or milk left out for us. The tea shop on site was excellent very clean, very friendly and really good breakfast especially liked that they have separate Gluten free menu. We have been told by owner that our accommodation is due for a refurbishment at the end of the season and that new and more comfortable apartments will be ready for next year so we might stay there again as its location is good for travelling around Cheshire and North Wales. If you could block out traffic noise it would be in an excellent location.

Good location for sightseeing in Chester
Location was ideal for sight seeing in Chester owner reccomended canal path walk, very photogenic and perfect for painting. Also well positioned for visiting Shotton.

Lovely clean but hot
Travelled for work only issue is getting into the key safe as I have arthritis I can not open them needed to ask someone in the next room to do it for me ! The quilt needs to be a lighter weight as every time I’ve stayed even in winter the room is hot

Lovely stay
Very helpful at accomodating our arrival time and organising a taxi to collect us for our evening meal in Chester. Lovely breakfast onsite, and will definitely be going back.

lovely stay
very friendly owners/ receptionist, clean and well maintained rooms. the shower was nice and hot and powerful. good location to travel from. We didn't have a breakfast due to the time we needed to leave but after speaking to others staying here the breakfast was apparently really nice and a good size. would stay again and would recommend it to others

When the owner tells you with arrogance that i have received a text and an email from Hotel.com with the entrance keycode when i obviously have not because i would not have tried to call him unsuccessfully on numerous times during the 2 days prior to staying otherwise is Not a good start. I had to call the "only in an emergency" number in the end to get hold of someone. Other than this the room was big the king size bed was lovely, the shower was modern and worked well. Nice tv, good tea making facilities. Although is was not the cleanest room and seeing hairs in the bathroom on arrival is never a nice sight. Was also looking forward to the much praised breakfast in the adjacent cafe, only to find out after arriving that it is closed on Mondays!

Dear Eirion, we are sorry you felt you could not enjoy your stay fully, we are a small business and practically cannot have a 24 hour reception, therefore, our system is set up for contactless check in for guests arriving outside reception hours. We would like to point out our systems show that 2 emails with your arrival information on were sent out from us to you via your booking agent, one sent the day before your arrival at 13:04 and one sent on the morning of your arrival at 10:11, we apologise if you did not see these emails. If we can we will send you a screenshot of the email log for your booking. We would also like to point out that our own website and on all of the booking platforms we use the information about us states that Foxes Cafe & Tearooms on our site is open everyday 8am - 2pm except Mondays and your booking was for room only. Again we do not enjoy seeing guests not 100% happy with their stay and we apologise. Kind Regards, Oakwood Farm Team.

Do not stay in the mews
Stayed one night in the Hayloft 18th Sep 2021 they didn’t mention when they called to confirm our booking on the day that the toilet was leaking and the carpet outside was soaked, so keep your shoes on if you need to use the bathroom. There was no one onsite when we arrived or left. Waited two weeks for an answer from Peter (which never came) he obviously doesn’t care about customer service. Also found out via their Facebook page that someone who stayed there three days before us, had reported the same problem to Peter.

Dear Guest My sincere apologies for a late reply as I have been away. The leak was reported to reception on a weekend, we then closed the room and had a plumber repair it. Sadly when you stayed that leak (clean water) had not been repaired correctly which sadly wasn’t apparent until it was pointed out by you and has now been correctly rectified , once again I offer my sincere apologies but I am not a plumber and have to rely upon there expertise.

Wonderful stay at a beautiful place
We had a lovely time staying at Oakwood Farm mews. The room was spotless & beautiful. We loved the shower & the general comfort of the room. The service was great, sending emails with key codes etc. There was no stress. We will definitely be visiting again. Thank you
