We stayed at Jomkitti during New Years and it was great. The location was great since it was very central in old town, making walking everywhere very convenient. They also had bikes you could rent if you wanted.
The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful, potentially the best part about staying at Jomkitti. They gave us great recommendations on things to do, and made phone calls for us to help coordinate with laundry and our next hotel.
I was also skeptical of the free breakfast because generally hotel breakfasts are "meh", but this one was very good. it was from 630 to 1030 and had a large selection of food, including pad thai, fried rice, made-to-order eggs, steamed dumplings, and a one-touch espresso machine (among other items).
The pool was fairly small, and didn't see a lot of sun, and the workout room consisted of an elliptical, a stationary bike, and a decline bench. Overall an excellent place, definitely staying here on our next trip to Chiang Mai
