This is a beautiful house and a nice part of Christchurch. Location was convenient to downtown, and easy walk, and to the airport. The owners were incredibly helpful. The beautiful kitchen was available for cooking, and the garden for picking vegetables. We would stay there again, and wish we’d had more time.

We arrived in Christchurch the day after the massacre. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The breakfast is amazing.

Great eco Hotel
This is a beautiful, eco focused hotel with loads of nice little extras, great rooms and a really nice garden space. The bathroom was shared between us and one other room which was not a problem at all.

I really liked everything about the place except that the bathroom was not ensuite and required traipsing across the hallway outside the kitchen. Owners and staff were great, room was nice, beds comfortable and table tennis table was a godsend because there were no tvs in the room or lounge etc - which would be a welcome addition because staying in hotels can be very boring and you dont always want to feel you have to go out (and spend yet more money on entertainment)!

Cosy house
Owner is warm and helpful. The house is beautiful and eco oriented. Garden is interesting and most of the plants are edible. Will be better if there is elevator to the upper floor. Room is a bit dim. No TV in the room but is not very important.

A great place to stay to explore Christchurch!
We loved staying at this B&B. We loved the eco aspect of the place, the bikes that were available (although we didn't use them) and a lovely and comfortable room. Beds were very comfortable. We had a shared bathroom but it was large and clean with eco-toiletries and it was always available when we needed it. It's a short walk to the cathedral area of CHC, with restaurants, museums and the trolley. It felt like home coming back after a sightseeing day. Breakfast was good--homemade yogurt from coconut milk, good muesli and toast. Great fruit and jams. A healthy and delicious continental breakfast (cost extra). Kitchen was available to cook in if you wanted. Taxi service to the train station was especially easy since the B&B is connected to the taxi database-all you had to do was call and give a time. In short, I would book this B&B if I ever go back to Christchurch.

Thumbs up to a sustainable stay
The Eco Villa was a wonderful place to stay, with an edible garden, outdoor baths, beautiful upcycled furnishings and homemade almond milk and organic soya milk for teas and coffees - we would definitely choose to stay here again. The Villa was absolutely spotless, very comfortable and sustainable luxury.

Beautiful villa right in the heart of Christchurch city. Kitchen and bathroom facilities amazing. Edible garden and outdoor baths!! The eco/sustainable ethic of this accommodation is great - no dairy, compost and worm farm bins in the kitchen, organic breakfast available. VERY clean facilities. VERY quiet. Beautiful room. Hosts were really friendly. We were more than impressed and will definitely be returning!

Adorable property with very friendly staff that is a quick walk away from a shopping district. Room was a little snug for our large luggage and right next to the communal area, so you can always hear other guests chatting outside. Besides that though, cute place and great communal patio and kitchen!

Nisha and her husband turned a large period home into a perfect accommodation for travellers. Nicely appointed on a relatively quiet street a short walk to downtown. Be sure to sign up for their organic, fresh made breakfast offering.

I booked this hotel quickly without looking into it much, but wow, was blown away when I arrived. There was a detailed information book that told me everything I wanted to know, and little notes everywhere so we didn't miss anything that was offered. Homemade, organic dairy-free milks (that tasted amazing!), a beautiful lounge area with books and games if you're feeling social, and the kitchen was spacious and well stocked with basics in case you wanted to cook. Our room was beautiful, too, warm (it was freezing out!) and comfortable linens. The bathroom was large and they provided nice toiletries. And the hosts were welcoming and lovely to chat with. Now I'm just hoping to come back in summertime to take advantage of the bikes and edible garden - what a cool concept! Highly recommended :)

Fabulous hostel with amazing facilities.
Had a great stay at Eco Villa. My partner and I were able to check in late and check out early (due to an early flight) with ease; would loved to have stayed longer. The amenities here are some of the best we have come across in all our travels, perfectly set up. Tea, coffee, and all kitchen staples readily provided and top quality utensils. The Villa has been well thought out from both a practical and design point of view. Staff were friendly and very hospitable. The only thing that impacted our stay was lukewarm showers early in the morning, but this may have been a one off due to the outside temperature and time of day. Regardless would 100% stay again when in Christchurch.

The best place I have stayed in a very long time
I cannot recommend Eco Villa enough. I have stayed in at least 50 places around the world in the past 12 months and this is the only review I was eager to give. Evan and Nisha are fantastic hosts, the building has old-school charm but has been completely modernized with incredible attention to detail. The garden and common areas are cozy and the kitchen is AMAZING with clean lines, modern appliances, and a sincere but unobtrusive emphasis on supporting sustainable environmental practices and economic use of resources without sacrificing convenience. The dish washer runs in 2 MINUTES and uses only 2.6 liters of water :-D. The wi-fi also works flawlessly. I would 100% stay here again and will thoroughly recommend it to any friends passing through Christchurch. The hotels.com photos and star rating do not come close to doing this fantastic place justice.

A gem
A very new lodging opposite the cathedral. A short walk from central Christchurch. The common areas are spacious and spotless. The free breakfast is healthy and delicious. The owners are warm and we felt like we were hosted at a friend's place.

Simply the best place to stay in Christchurch
Totally enjoyed our stay at Eco Villa. Room and service was faultless. The building is simply stunning and has been recently renovated and decorated to an exceptionally high standard. The owners were very friendly, helpful and genuinely care about providing a great service. It's just the best pace to stay to explore Christchurch - circa 10 min walk into the centre or less to some really great coffee shops. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Eco Villa - the beds and bedding were as good quality as we have at home and the decoration was just lovely and to our taste. Perfect bathroom / shower. It all made for a very relaxing stay and would love to return one day. No hesitation 5 star rating from a very picky travelling couple :-)

Beautiful hotel close to town.
This accommodation was very well appointed and conveniently located to the CBD. It was a cross between a high end boutique hotel and a backpackers, offering class and that community feel in one. The staff/owners were very friendly and have created a unique business.
