"Excellent hotel, beautifully located and with nice, smart rooms. However, mostly there was no hot/warm water in the bathroom sink. I mentioned this to the reception staff several times, but in my 5 days there hot water worked only on two (evening) occasions. The other thing was very rude chambermaid. On my final day she knocked my door at 09:25 and demanded I checked out. I mentioned that the check-out time was 12:00 and she preteneded she didn't understand, and still insisted I should vacate the room. I was about to anyway, but it was very unpleasant and it very mch spoiled the overall feeling of my stay in this hotel. Usually, when in Amsterdam, I stay at NH Caransa. And I will probably go there again. Theydon't kick you out of your room there."

"This was, I think, my fifth time staying at Hotel 717, and every visit feels special. I have stayed in a different room each time, and this time I was on the main floor, which I loved because we were so close to the wonderful people who look after us, especially Giorgio and Patrick :) This stay, my daughter Lauren and I travelled from Canada to Amsterdam to meet our dear friends, another mother and daughter who flew in from Vienna. The four of us were there to see Harry Styles, and Hotel 717 became our beautiful home away from home. The location is perfect, close to so many lovely parts of Amsterdam (including the MOCO Museum, Jordaan and De Pijp neighbourhoods), while still feeling peaceful and welcoming upon return. One morning, because of jet lag, Lauren and I woke up at 05:00 and decided to walk to nearby Vondelpark. As we left, it wasn’t even 06:00 yet, and there was Giorgio arriving to begin his shift. It was such a sweet moment and somehow captured the feeling of the whole stay. We feel like we have known him for years. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, the beds are extremely comfortable, and I highly recommend breakfast in their gorgeous breakfast room. Each morning, Giorgio spoiled us with many kopje koffies while we had a chance to chat with other travellers. Hotel 717 is charming, elegant, comfortable, and close to everything. We love it so much and are always reminded why we keep coming back."

"It was a great property and in an excellent location to all of the museums and sights I was going to see. I did have a little trek from the tram stop to the hotel, I came from the main train station & took the tram. It is a very safe location too, my friend from the area confirmed for me. Room was clean & it does have air conditioning which is awesome."
