Hotel was ok, breakfast was good! Room was a little dated. Cologne, other than the Cathedral, and old town area was good, but the rest of the city was blah and dreary

The hotel is conveniently located just a few walks away from a metro station (Hansaring station). The hotel is old and the rooms need a little bit of renovation but over-all it was okay. The hotel offers breakfast buffet for an additional 12 euros.

The hotel was in a perfect location for the city centre, either to walk or use the U bahn. The room was very clean and the staff super friendly. They also helped us to solve a problem we had with our suitcase which we really appreciated. Thank you! Couldn't recommend the hotel more.

Upon arrival the front desk person clearly had no business being the person greeting people and set a negative tone for our stay. To be fair, the hotel was good. Clean, plenty of towels and hot water. Wifi was good, tv good, bed fine. Good area. The walls snd doors care thin and you will hear everything. It’s in a pretty good location. Pretty much the only reason I wouldn’t recommend or stay there is the staff. Jerks

The room was big and bathroom was a very good size. I loved the bath. The check in was good and they allowed me to leave my suitcase there as i arrived before check in. The two guys at reception were amazing and friendly and helpful. The room had good natural light. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding with a good selection of foods. The shower was good with plenty of hot water and great pressure. The hotel has a nice vibe and feels comfortable. I could see the manager (or head person) checking everything was ok. I would definitely stay again.

We had to pay additional taxes for the stay and did not get a reaon why. After checkout we tild them that it allready tax'd by hotels, but they told us to take the complane to the city

On the bright side- the location is good, the room was old fashioned but pleasant, breakfast was fine, the shower was very good. There is a nice coffee shop with good internet next door which is important because the wifi at the hotel was down for the duration of my stay. Do your research about the city before you arrive because the concierge couldn't help with any of my enquiries- Where to find internet? Is there a laundrette near by? When will the wifi be repaired? He simple answered "I don't know" to all my questions.

A visit to the Cologne Christmas markets.
We were supposed to stay 3 nights in tis hotel; however, due to a strike on Eurostar, we arrived a day late. I had called the hotel and advised of our late arrival so they were expecting us and there were issues when checking in. The hotel is located 5 minutes from an S and U-Bahn station which has frequent trains to the HBF and the city centres. The breakfast at the hotel was good and staff were very helpful. The rooms were adequate but could be described as tired. Although my room was non-smoking, no doubt there had been people smoking here in the past. a thorough decoration would help with this. We would stay here again as it is a great base for getting around Germany and Cologne.

The rooms were very small the hotel needs to be refurbished the walls,curtains and carpets were really dirty you couldn't walk on the carpets with you bare feet as they were so dirty and breakfast wasn't up to much didn't cater for English people couldn't even get a cup of English tea. We stayed in Berlin for 3 nights prier to Cologne paid the same price and the room was fantastic more like a one bedroom flat and so clean very disappointed with the room in Cologne for the price we paid.

Room was basic but comfortable and pleasant - only one S bahn stop from the central station. Breakfast was well done. Water and gummies on arrival was a nice touch. Good for our one night stay.

Good bed but only in emergencies.
Not so good, felt dirty, noisy room, not so practical with electric plugs, curtains. Good service, good breakfast, good bed but not a good room, all too old and not well kept. During the Koln Fair, it was just too overpriced.

Yes nice little hotel. Short walk from the central station, aldstadt and even shorter to Hansaring on the s-bahn with regular trains all over the rhineland. Very central, plenty of good bars, cafes, cheap eats and restaurant options around in short distance for every budget. Good cheaper kebab and bratwurst type options (kebabs are great in Germany, much better than in the UK) and some very nice restaurants. I ate a kebab one evening from a kebab place, some asian food the next, some nice German food at a smarter bar restaurant and it was all very nice. Decent breakfast provided and for a single traveller like me was perfect. Yes just stay here its cheap, central, perfectly comfortable and in good working order. The wifi actually works here aswell, which is rare for a budget hotel in Germany (believe me I know). On the negative I could not get the tv to work, which was a bit annoying when I had some downtime.

The location was good as we were close to where we wanted to be - we were going to wedding. The 'man' receptionist was very helpful with ordering taxi. It was VERY hot weather and sadly no air con. Window did open but there was no breeze.
