Buffalo Valley Ranch
2/10 Terrible
"Bruder muss los.
Being real, not a great stay. The whole idea is great, the problem is how it's maintained and handled. The Tippi beds were slightly wet, you get a towel to clean that off tho. However 2 of the 4 beds were falling apart and we had to fix them ourselves before we were able to lay down. For a stay fee they give you sheets, blankets... but even that without love, no pillows, had to use a shirt wrapped around a towel as a pillow. Added it was way to cold for the equipment they give you, let me just say we each had our own blanket brought from the car and yet we were freezing throughout the night. On our roof was a wasp nest, was not a big issue to me, especially since it was still to cold for them, I think it will be there for the next guest too tho:)
It would really not take a lot to upgrade and make the stay a cool tipi night, feels like the whole ranch included staff does not care to change that.
And normally I'm not even that picky, however if I can say I slept better in my own tent in freezing temperatures 3000 meter elevation (I mean had a proper sleeping bag and mat) but I hope I'm warning everyone.
At the end the biggest problem really was the temperatur, all the other things I would not complain about if it would not be for the crazy price!!!
The price does not match at all what you receive, honestly that's the thing making me the most mad, it was one of my most expensive stays through my USA trip for that.
Just warning everyone coming in cold times:)"
"Rooms were very tiny, no amenities for the price. Our neighbor said their sheets were dirty so we didn't even chance it. Upon check in a quest was already complaining about their room and having to use an extension cord for power, then the restaurant meal was frozen fish, etc. At first front desk wasnt having it, but then said they'd comp the meal cuz of the room they were in. NO THANK YOU! They wanted $345 at check in, but I found a rate at $281 (complete highway robbery.). Terrible stay, but at least it wasn't 345 for a few hours of sleep, on top of the covers, with old toilet and plug in wall heaters. Pretty rough!"
"My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Hatchet resort We especially enjoyed having a great 2 restaurant combination on site and we discussed staying again in the future."
"The staff were very helpful and friendly, the suite was beautiful, clean and spacious. Teton Village was a convenient location for all the activities we had planned and places we wanted to visit."
"Colter Bay is a great place to stay in the Grand Teton National Park. Rustic, quiet cabins with comfortable beds. No frills for sure but that’s the vibe in national parks. On-site restaurants offer a good variety. Trails to walk; beach to have a picnic. After first staying here 20+ years ago we are always happy to return."
