"The Lodge was beautifully kept up, the rooms were clean and roomy! The staff were all amazing, always smiling and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and the late afternoon wine and snacks were great. We definetly loved our stay and will be returning. Craig and Rose Cumberland"

"The bed was like sleeping.on a rock. The king bed was a queen bed. You have to pay extra for maid service. The bathroom was tiny. Could barely close the door. The included breakfast included powered eggs and orange water. The soap, shampoo and conditioner plainly read Rosemary Geranium, but all were clearly lemon scented. Having paid a hefty price for the room they should do better. Resort fee of $40.00. In my opinion an unethical cash grab."

"The gym was very big and had a lot of cardio machines and the Precor equipment was in excellent condition. Perfect location between the convention center and the Midway museum. No need for a car rental; we walked everywhere! Lauren was very helpful! Room 2462 in Seaport section does have an old smokers smell, which could be from cleaning fluids. I’m super sensitive to odors, so we kept widows open to circulate the air. Overall, we would be back in a snap!"

"The hotel was in a fantastic area. The Gaslamp District was great for walking around and dining options. The pool is nice, but no wait staff to take orders, they did deliver our food and beverages that we ordered at the bar. We reserved an upgraded Bay View room, which was very nice but the view was mostly of a train station and small bay view! The trains run day and night and our room was very noisy. We went to a baseball game and the access to the stadium (which is amazing) was very convenient. It took us three trips to the concierge desk to finally speak to the concierge (who was very helpful) because no one could find him! The front desk staff at check-in had to be reminded of both our Expedia status and status with Omni in order to receive our perks. It is a lovely hotel and we would stay there again, just request a room away from the train system!"

"Extremely disappointing for the price. We paid extra for a Corner King Room with a bay + city view but were given a 7th-floor room facing the convention center — no city view, no balcony, and not even a pool view. Every corner room shown online appeared to include a balcony, which felt very misleading. The front desk was dismissive. We even asked to downgrade to a standard room just to get a pool or city view at minimum, but were told the hotel was fully booked due to a conference so we were out of luck. To make matters worse, we were charged a $50/day resort fee while both the pool and hot tub were closed for a private event... which is one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. We ended up checking out early and moving to another hotel for the rest of our vacation. Overall, a very disappointing Marriott experience."

"The hotel experience overall was excellent. The room was very clean and updated. Beds were comfortable. The breakfast options were also great and loved the fact that they offer it. But talk about location. I think it was the perfect location. It's within a walking distance to a grocery store (albeit it was on a more "expensive" side), to some shops, and to restaurants. At the end of that street is actually a park where there's a garden and walking path by the beach, over looking the city of San Diego. It feels quiet and safe enough that I walked with my kids in the early hours of the evening. The people were very nice and friendly. The staff were courteous and attentive at all times. It is close to the bridge and to everything else, really. As with any cities, watch out for the traffic times. As crossing the bridge could take you 10-15 mins on a good day, to being stuck there linger than you have to coz of rush hour, or evening traffic. So plan for those when going in and out of the city."
