"Comfortable but not super relaxing. White light everywhere and colorful flashing LED lights around the jacuzzi. Quite jarring. The entire hotel needs an urgent remodel. It looks very dated and old"

"The perspective of Vulcan Arenal was perfect from this perfectly situated property. Great food ranging from Costa Rican to international, available throughout the day. I preferred their salt water pool to staying at a different resort which featured thermal pools- then we chose to drive back to eat here once more- so good. Just know in advance that you may not drive to your room; must take a jitney."

"This is a unique property, with direct access to a river running along the property which is accessible to swim in, the views from the cabins are spectacular with mountain and natural jungle views with amazing bird and plants/flowers. Had howling monkeys directly in front of my cabin. Can't recommend this property enough, just awesome "

"This hotel was perfect for what we wanted. It is about a 3-4 min drive to the restaurants in town. Daily breakfast was very good, the spa was marvelous! We went twice for massages, the pool and separate jacuzzi’s were great. "

"OMG! We just loved Chongos Place! The cabins are so cute and beautiful, clean with all necessities. The porch with the hammock was just our favorite place. The plants right outside the porch invite these beautiful hummingbirds and butterflies that we got to observe up close! And the pool was amazing, we spend hours in it each day. Great if you have kids (my daughter never wanted to leave the pool!) And to top it all... the view of the Arenal is breathtaking. Check in/ check outs were smooth and we even did an early luggage drop which was so helpful. The family is so friendly and inviting, they gave us so many helpful insider local tips for activities and meals. They live right next door but respect your privacy while being available if needed. Thank you for a great stay!"
