Pembroke Hotel

"Spent two night at the Pembroke which is very conveniently located and walkable to the sites of Kilkenny. Parking and drop off was not as simple as we would have liked because the road is very busy with limited access to unloading, while the parking lot is a five minute walk away around a couple of corners and up a small hill. Bed was comfortable and the shower pressure was fantastic. TV was oddly mounted on a fixed mount that offered a 45* view when sitting on the bed. Live TV did not work during our stay and the toilet seat was hanging on by a single bolt. The restaurant was good, offering several good options for an evening meal while the included breakfast was excellent - try the waffles and bacon! Staff were efficient and friendly throughout our short stay."

"Avalon house is a Hidden gem. There's so much to do in the area with the adventure Park in the beautiful walking trails in the forest. The breakfast which was included was amazing. I just thought it was a great place to stay. We even went zip lining nearby and it was very affordable. It was just a treat to stay at the Avalon house. Everything was just right."

"We had a very good stay. The hotel was clean, comfortable and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful, and everything went smoothly during our stay. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The location was also convenient and the overall experience was very good. "We stayed 2 weeks. We loved it! If you have never driven in Ireland, I recommend staying off the roads that start with an R as much as possible. This place has two ways in and out of for sight seeing. When you exit the gate, turn left. Best way to go anywhere. The place is quiet, and very comfortable! Mel, the owner was amazing and very quick to answer questions and tend to our needs. This place has everything, so not much was needed. Shopping is less than 4 miles away. Food and Kilkenny, are not much farther. The shower in Mews 1, is the best shower we have ever had in a Vrbo! When we were not traveling, it was amazing to sit outside on the couches and relax. Many nights we played cards with drinks. Peaceful and quiet! The black cat is very friendly! It has an old cottage look and feel to it. We loved it! In Kilkenny, we recommend Mat the Millers for food and drinks! The fish and chips and Guinness stew were our favorites! You will not leave hungry. We also recommend Ryan’s bar! It’s a fun place with live music . Lots to see and do in the area. We will definitely stay here again! Thanks for having us Mel!"
