"We had a text a couple of days before and were able to ask a couple of questions. We were welcomed by Vernon on arrival and shown around the hotel. Vernon was keen to show the girls the dancing and they had a long session the next morning. Breakfast was cereal and we had coffee and tea. The guest house is very clean and tidy and welcoming. "Really enjoyed our two night stay. The room was really comfortable with thoughtful extra touches like complimentary bottled water, a big selection of hit drinks and bottled milk and oat milk in the fridge. Staff were fantastic, really helpful and friendly. Breakfast was extremely good. A relative who lives in the town said it was their favourite place to go for breakfast and I can see why. I highly recommend a stay here ."

"Had a 2 night stay which was wonderful, Jon and Julie plus George are amazing hosts the property is kept to a very high standard and furnished very nicely, the only small drawback is that the bathroom was small, however it is perfectly functionable and well appointed. Breakfast is superb with plenty of choice, you definitely won't go hungry Would definitely recommend and will definitely be staying again"

"Small but beautifully fitted out room with high quality furniture, fabulous bathroom. Lovely to stay in a place with character that doesn’t look like a travelodge. Good value. Good in room snacks, lovely breakfast cooked beautifully. Lovely big bath! Alternative shower head with better flow would have been nice (it was a v large diffuse spray) and TV wall stand had the TV at a slight angle and needed replacement. But these were minor glitches. Friendly and hospitable host. Free on street parking nearby as we stayed before 1st May. Highly recommended!"

"The place is surface level clean but if you end up having to move furniture e.g because you drop something behind the bedside table, it’s quite dirty. That’s just one example, inside the cleaning cupboard, if you need a broom for example, again, dirty. The electric meter cost way more than the estimates provided. Please note that we stayed in the cold month of December. We never really got it toasty warm like with central heating. The electric meter had a momentary blip where it would keep rejecting coins despite using it fine the evening before. We appreciate this isn’t an issue the owners have experienced before but just highlighting it did happen to us. The shower was weak & took a while to get used to. Again, the owners say they haven’t experienced problems reported before but we’re highlight that, for us, it wasn’t an easy “turn it on & you’re away” like our home shower. It’s temperamental. In trying to get it warm enough. It’s tired & things like door frames could do with a lick of paint and there’s splatter marks in the main bedroom. Light switches aren’t where you would intuitively reach for them, like in the second bedroom. And the decor and furniture is poor. My husband and I can pick things up pretty quickly but we just found the who found the whole thing a faff. If you’re on a very tight budget and have the time to read & learn everything- it’ll probably be fine. But we’ll never return. On a plus, the bed was comfy & the kids enjoyed the bunk beds. "
