Bayards Cove Inn

"Lovely small boutique hotel near the quayside with friendly staff and nicely decorated. Very busy with a coffee shop and restaurant on lower ground. Being one of the oldest buildings in the town it has low ceilings, steep stair cases, beams and wonky floors! The bedrooms are spotlessly clean and our bed and pillows were very comfortable. Free WiFi, bottled water, tv, tea & coffee, hair dryer, iron and ironing board and USB plug points besides the bed are included. A couple of rooms are on the first floor and the others on the second/third floor. Breakfast is served between 8-11am and was excellent, as was the coffee! Unfortunately we can’t review the dinner as we had other plans but it looked great. Parking is an issue within the town and we were aware of this before arriving. After October, parking is slightly better and we managed to park for three days in a free car park, a five minute walk away. Being an old building, the windows are not double glazed, therefore especially the front bedrooms are draughty and you hear the traffic and people. The hotel is at the end of lower street/ Bayards cove with a pub next door so not much through traffic but you do hear the deliveries reversing first thing in the morning. We enjoyed our stay here and visiting the surrounding areas -via the ferries and steam train. Dartmouth was delightful! Well recommended!"

"The room was very comfortable, the staff were excellent. We loved the ambience and the food There was nothing we disliked except the proximity of the village church which insisted on striking every quarter hour day and night. It was an unusually warm night in October so we had the window open so I would advise using earplugs if the window is open."

"Probably my favourite inn I've ever stayed in. The room was perfect, thoughtful touches everywhere, the location right on the edge of the town centre was excellent, everything the town had to offer was less than a 5 minute walk. Breakfast was 5*. No complaints at all. Would definitely stay here again."

"This was my second visit to this accommodation and it was just as good as the first. The chalet has everything you could need for a self-catering facility. Clean, with also plenty of good quality towels. There is also plenty of parking space. As this was a summer stay, there were plenty of families with children and dogs. There are no facilities for children to play on so you do need to entertain them. Even with small children and dogs, the chalet park was very quiet and everyone very friendly. There are supermarkets nearby and Dartmouth is very close and beautiful, well with a visit. I always prefer self catering to hotels and the price was extremely reasonable. I would definitely come to this chalet again and again and highly recommend it. One thing might be worthwhile to mention, I came during a heatwave so the chalet was extremely hot inside as you would expect. A fan would have been a lovely addition. The lack of that does not preclude me from visiting again."

"The property was in a great location for the town centre. The road is very narrow so be mindful of what size car you have, but we were fine. Only enough parking for one car, so had to park in the park and ride for the other car, but that was easy enough. House is fully equipped, very clean and comfortable and would definitely recommend."
