"Stop your Daintree hotel search, just book DWL - you won't regret it!
It is a lovely boutique, micro-resort perfectly situated in the Daintree.
Cabins/rooms are a stunning oasis. Serene and relaxing (though the critters can be loud at night). There are only eight cabins in total, so the property is always quiet, with very little human traffic roaming about.
Staff are fantastic. Sasha seems to run a one-man show with support from a few others in the background. He offered many suggestions for sightseeing and kindly arranged all of my meals. Merci Sasha - bon travail!
The tiny whirlpool is perfect for a cool down from the heat and extreme humidity.
Food was excellent and great value. They accommodated my vegetarian needs well and a great selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Formidable StarLink WiFi in the restaurant/lounge area. Mobile reception is very poor, but present in some pockets of the property.
Convenient on-site parking.
Did not see the hotel Cassowary this visit, maybe next time! "
"First the good points. The property is in a very picturesque location. The grounds are inviting. The area is quiet. The bed was comfortable.
Now the not so good. Our stay was a birthday treat for my wife. The price we paid was excessive given that the accomodation is basically similar to a cabin in a caravan park. There is a sign on the door saying guests are not permitted to eat in their rooms and must eat at the cafe, but the cafe wasn’t operating. Supposedly there should have been complementary toiletries, but liquid soap is all you get. Certainly not value for money."
"Very happy with the bungalow we had. It was perfect for a couple and we loved being in the rainforest. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hosts were also great. Our flight was delayed and we were arriving later than anticiapted but they were able to accommodate a later check in on short notice. Our gps was taking us further than the actual bungalow but there was signage so we found it easily even in the dark. I think the highlight of us staying here was being woken up by a cassowary right by our car. "
