COVID-19 has ushered in significant changes to how we travel. If you’re planning a vacation in Sarawak, the following tips will help you navigate travel’s newest challenges:
- Before committing to anything, find out if any travel restrictions apply — in both your origin and destination. Get up-to-date information by reviewing government and airport websites.
- Keep your face mask on even during airport screening. A TSA officer will require you to lower your mask temporarily to verify your identity.
- Rather than handing a TSA employee your boarding pass, position it straight on the reader yourself. When that’s done, hold it up for inspection.
- One container of liquid hand sanitizer is now permitted in your carry-on luggage. It must be no bigger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you’ll need to remove it from your bag for X-ray screening.
- To minimize handling during screening, place items such as your wallet, phone and belt into your carry-on rather than the bins.
- Separate any food you have for screening. Putting it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA officer to touch and inspect your belongings.
