"I stayed at this hotel for one night prior to heading back to the airport. I would highly highly recommend both the town and the hotel for at least a day or two. I packed so much into the day including an early morning thermal hotspring hike (recommend!), lunch at the taco place in the hotel (yes you read that right - there is a dining hall with multiple choices like a really high quality mall food court), then an ice bike guided mountain bike (honestly a highlight for me - highly recommend), followed by fish and chips dinner, followed by an even drive out to the coast just to check out the ocean and have some lobster type soup. Epic single day and The Greenhouse was an amazing kick off point (oh and they were very accommodating on an early-ish check in - the front desk lady even ran up to check to see if it was ready as she thought the computer system wasn’t updated). 5/5 on all accounts!"

"Hotel is just outside of Vik. Easy drive to town. Liked that it was easy parking and had a beautiful view. Breakfast was delicious. Staff were very friendly. "

"Loved the floor to ceiling windows with an incredible view of the beach and Reynisdrangar! We enjoyed a delicious fresh breakfast buffet. Dinner was expensive but a wonderful experience. Heated floors in the bathroom are a nice touch. My fiancé and I really enjoyed our stay."

"Amazing place to stay if you are stopping in Vik on your trip to Iceland. Great breakfast everyday. Comfortable room with plenty of room. Good blackout shades to block the midnight sun. Dinner is great there too! "

"Hotel Grimsborgir is located near the kerid crater. It was my intention to visit the crater as soon as it opened in the morning, but I got a little impatient and couldn’t wait (it didn’t open until 10 am). That’s on me, though, for being the way that I am. The location is perfect for those who are traveling along the Golden circle and wish to further explore the area. There is also a lookout/view point nearby that overlooks the river, along with a beautiful view of the hills and beyond. It is absolutely worth the stop. I wish I had booked more than one night at this hotel. The rooms are situated in small buildings, around a loop, with every room/apartment getting a beautiful view, regardless of which direction it faces. The biggest bonus for me was that the bed was absolutely, amazingly comfortable! Traveling around Europe for the past few years, I always dread how firm the beds will be as they tend to be on the very firm side throughout Europe. The bed had the perfect amount of firmness and fluffy cloudiness and I slept wonderfully! The room came with a wonderful bathroom that included a nice-sized shower. The only negative here is that the shower curtain could use to be a bit heavier to prevent it from attacking you while showering. This, of course, only happens when you take a hot shower and it’s colder outside the shower than in. I just happen to be one of those females who takes a shower the temperature of hades… (I write too much and it got cut off. )"
