Great, older property. Nice big king rooms. Everything is clean. Bed was comfortable. Staff were accomodating needing to park our boat. Thanks again. We’ll be back.

We stayed 5 nights at Barclay Motor Inn. The rooms were very clean, with comfortable bed and extra pillows provided. Our unit was on ground level, with free parking for your vehicle right outside your door, (most of them are at this business) which made moving suitcases in and out very easy. There is a heated covered pool, which my husband used...and loved. Well provided coffee, tea and sugar; with rooms serviced on a daily basis. Laundromat is provided, and you will require coins to operate them. There is a small bar fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster which comes in handy when preparing breakfast / lunch for the day. The complex does provide room service breakfast which you fill in the night before. There is a house across the road which is also owned by Barclay (I guess it is for families). Hairdryer and toiletries are provided, with recessed bathroom mirror to store all your goods in. We have highly recommended this facility to our family and friends travelling to Tassie next year, and will return for our next trip,

Best start to our Tasmania adventure
Our stay was beyond expectations. We loved every minute. The pool was warm and relaxing. The unit was spacious and tastefully designed. All that you need and more. Wonderful night sleep and friendly owners.

A good quality country style motel within an easy walk to Devonport CBD. I have stayed here on a few occasions and will do so again. It’s hard to beat for value for money and location.

The only very small complaint i would have is to have the heaters turned on for when we arrived cause it took ages to warm up thank you.

highly recommend
We stayed in the Standard Unit (24th April) We received a warm welcome. The room was clean - as well as a toaster, and kettle it had a microwave, table and chairs. The bathroom had been newly renovated and was lovely. On the day we arrived, new tvs were being installed in the units. Our room was spotless, quiet and comfortable. Highly recommend and we will be back ourselves.

After 10 nights In Tasmania this property takes the cake. Everything is perfect. This property is a proof that facilities do not have to be fancy. Just a common sense and everything opens and shuts as it should. Best wishes to Adrian and the crew.

This will be my go to for overnights in Devonport. Exceptional rooms, the friendliest service and everthing looking like its new. Add in the massive solar system, that system is huge! I will be returning.

Got in late, didn’t check cleanliness of bed. As I rolled over on my pillow I rolled into crusty food on the pillow case. Turned light on- it was covered in food and stains. Told motel person- pillow case was changed, that was it. Black mould in bathroom. Otherwise user friendly accommodation.

My only observation was there were no tissues or spare toilet roll in the room.

We didn’t stay ended up leaving at 9pm there weee fleas in the carpet and bathroom floor moths all over the wall and bed bugs which we all got bitten from😳

Hi Robert and Catherine,Thank you for your comments regards the room.Our head housekeeper and manager have checked the room you were in and have found no evidence of any bug either in the carpet or the beds.All our beds have new mattress protectors and are checked daily by the housekeepers when changing linen, again with no evidence of any kind.We are a pet free establishment and we have never had instance of the fleas you mention.It would have been help full if you had brought your concerns to us at the time so we could attend to your concerns directly.
